My dogs butt smells so bad what do I do??

If your dog is NOT fixed.......its possible she has come into season........and shes going to stink for some time.

If she is fixed.....or if she is not fixed.......the following applies.

Your dogs has anal glands....which will cause her to STINK, no matter how clean her fur is.

you can have your vet do this......but a cheaper way is to take her to a groomer, and ask them to express her anal glands.........you'll be glad you did. Once you learn how to do this yourself....you wont have to pay anyone to do it for you (but if it grosses you out , you might want to pay someone anyway....haha)

Maybe its the anal glands.

Or sometimes with the longer fur back there, it gets really dirty when the dog goes to the bathroom. She may need a sanitary trim.

Also, be careful you aren't bathing her too often. Dogs shouldn't be bathed more than once every two weeks, as you will dry out their skin. With a pom you need to dry her and brush and comb out the fur after the bath. This will get rid of undercoat, and she will smell a lot better than if you let her run around wet.

Sometimes dogs have their anal glads get filled up. So, you should go to your vet and get them drained. It smells pretty bad but I don't think that it feels to nice either. Yes, its dirty work but it must be done. Or you can use baby wipes if you can see any waste around her but-ox

same here..my dog sits on my moms head! and she is always complaing i said get her off ur head but we give her a bath a bout every month so i dont no either

try getting the hair around his but trimmed/cut as some of the feces get stuck there.

she might have gas in whichcase it will pass in a few days.

another thing you can do is have wet wipes by the door and when she comes in from doing her buisnes you can quickly wipe her...its a little gross but it will keep anything from sticking there

Get her anal glands checked by either a vet or groomer.

Uh..sorry but why do you keep smelling her butt...? Just don't smell it and you won't feel it.
