I was around 10 or 11, and had to clean my room myself and

change the sheets. Nothing major other than that, that I can

remember. We had twins growing up in the house then, and

mom had her hands full. I was given a new big bedroom up-

stairs where the attic had been. It was a combination of my

room and guest room since there also was a big double bed

across the room. My parents had a carpenter enclose the

attic and put in a closet and built in drawers. There was even

storage for fishing gear and sleeping bags in a tiny storage

area on one side. It was large enough I entertained friends

upstairs too away from the family.

My mom never assigned me other chores to do. She was

a perfectionist and wanted things done the way she wanted

them. So she opted to do the inside chores herself to pass

inspection. My dad took care of the outside chores and

yard work. Sometimes we would help him with raking or

shoveling snow in the winter tho. Or helping with grass pickup

after mowing the yards. By we, I mean my mother. But in gen-

eral, her domain was inside and his was outside. Which is

    the way they preferred it.

The chores in my house consisted of clean my room and bathroom. I started to do chores when I was twelve. Chores should be a thing thr whole family does together everyday to make sure the home is clean.

As soon as I spoke and told my mother what I wanted. She figured if I could ask I could do it myself. If I played with a toy, I had to put it up before I could drag out another. If I played outside. I had to clean the floor where I walked when I came in. There's no age for chores. You mess it up you clean it up.

Chores, Chores I don't do any stinking chores. I had nothing to say about being born. I'll be damned if my parents are going to make me their slave. They should have thought about this chores crap when they were fooling around and my dad got my mom pregnant. Now they can take care of me forever. If not I will sue them. Thank you.

as soon as I could walk, My children are raised the same way I was.

At 1 year old they can help pick up their own toys.

At 2 you can add putting napkins on the table for dinner and help make their bed in the morning

At 3 you can add clearing their own plate.

At 4 you can add feeding a pet ( ours is the goldfish)

At 6 they can help fold laundry, or help with the dishes.

Source(s): My children do all of these things happily because they are doing them with me. They don't know they are doing "chores" they just know they are doing what needs to be done.
