How to remove an earring??
My 4 year old daughter had her ears pierced as a baby and we never changed her earrings. One of her earrings is missing, so I bought her a new pair to wear. The problem is I can't get her other earring off!!!! She screams when I try to pull it off. Why won't this earring come off?!? I'm going to have to put the new one in her other ear so her hole doesn't close up, but I have to get that one off. HELP!!!
The earrings have been turned, and rotate fine. It's more that the back is stuck to the post.
I don't need to be criticized for not taking care of my daughter. That is totally uncool. I have put the ointment given to me by the piercers regularly since they were originally pierced. They are turned regularly. I did not know that the piercing earrings needed to be removed and replaced with regular earrings. Don't be judgemental. That's not cool.

Try Oral Jel on the site for a while before trying to remove it. It should help the pain (sting). The skin is closed to close to the actual metal. you may have to see a Dr. to have a swipe of topical local (they rub it on the inside of the mouth, etc before they give kids a shot to help with the sting). If you can get her to sit still, you can take a small pair of crafting "nippers" and cut through the earring close to the piercing hole and it will be easier to take out. that way you don't turn the ear ring all the way around. You may want to have that ear repierced after disinfecting it.

It sounds like the earring has not been turned and the skin has closed onto the metal. You could try putting Polysporin around both ends and leaving it sit for a few hours to moisten the skin then try to turn the earring, once it turns freely it should be easier to manipulate the ear away from the clasp ( and yes applying Ora-Gel should numb the area helping your daughter cope with the pulling). It would be best if you took your child to the Dr and let him remove the earring, just in case there are issues to be dealt with when it does come off.
It would be strongly advised to look after the new earrings better until your daughter can do it herself or you could end up with more trouble than she bargained for!! If you do not intend to clean and tend them regularly, let the holes grow over and when she gets old enough let her decide if she wants pierced ears!!!
