Puppy with Bladder infection or UTI ?
Bladder infection in my new puppy???
I have a new baby (Lilly) she is a 9 1/2 week old Golden Retriever puppy. I noticed yesterday that she is urinating all the time (or trying to...but only outside). She is already trained to go to the door when she has to potty. I do not notice her in pain, any blood or discoloration of urine, not really any MORE accidents in the house or non in the crate and she has just been switched foods this week. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT AT HER VET, but CAN'T GET AN APPT. until tomorrow. I just wanted some opinions and/or advice to know if anyone else has experienced this or if someone might know if these are symptoms for a bladder or UTI infection. I haven't been a new puppy mommy for 5 years (other than litters that pass through my home and I never have them at this age so it's just hard to remember). Thanks for all your help. I'm not an idiot just need to revamp my puppy way of thinking. Thanks for your help.
sorry about the spelling errors...LOL
Thanks so much. Just don't want to put it off. I am probably being overly cautious but better safe than sorry with my precious new baby girl.
It's not that I dont know...I guess sometimes you just need someone else's opinion to REMIND you...and I talked to an administrative assistant last night...called back to day talked to someone who knows...and we will take in a sample after work...woo hoo

I have had puppies go every 20 minutes especially if they have complete access to water. Their bladders are little and don't hold much so they go more often

HI!
It never hurts to bring in a urine sample to the vets. You can do that today and have your answer by tomorrow or even today if your vet does in house testing. My pup had a UTI when I picked him up. It was a strange situation but that's another story. I never saw blood only frequent urinating. A few accident in the house too. Not any to alarm me but enough to make me still suspicious.
Just catch it in a cup or what ever you can and take it in. If your do catch the urine store it in your frig. I was asked to bring in a morning sample but hey with new pups that can be hard to do some times. Especially when they get you up at 5am. or earlier! lol I cant focus that early in the morning.
It is not uncommon but it is frustrating to you and the pup.
A simple round of antibiotics clears it up in no time.
Call your vet and then bring in the sample. It's better than wondering.
Good Luck with your Golden girl! :)

If it grow to be a bladder or urinary tract an infection, it may injury... your canine could whine, possibly sparkling himself somewhat greater advantageous than time-honored, and normally situations they only won't be in a place to administration it. How old is your canine? Has he had a transformation in eating habitual? Like greater treats, ones that could have a capability on how plenty water he drinks? He might desire to be marking his territory. because of the fact that your canine is possibly nevertheless a baby, likelihood is is that he's basically starting to be up. whilst a canine matures somewhat they have an inclination to be greater territorial... my canine grow to be comparable, and there grow to be a element the place we had to retrain him. that's a stable element you are going to the vet, they might have the capability to tell you greater. If he isn't whining, or performing out of the traditional with the exception of peeing I doubt there is plenty to be worrying approximately. stable success! ***lol, if he's taking off to hump issues, he's starting to be up! back, my canine did a similar element. Humping is a demonstration of dominance. Your canine is making efforts to be the alpha, he's possibly attaining into his teenage time... they get relatively frisky whilst puberty hits. Peeing is now not basically a reliever, that's a marker. The greater he marks, the greater he 'claims'. His pooping will play a similar place. basically beware nonetheless, he additionally could be frisky around different canines too!

Hello :)
IMHO lil pups poop, pee and sleep :)
If it takes several days to get a vet appointment, maybe just collect a "sample" and drop it off at the vets office?
Best of luck :)))
