Do you think the mutual fund Fidelity Balanced will bounce back from the current slump?

In 2002, Fidelity Balance didn't take the major hit like most other mutual funds in the same grouping. However Fidelity Balanced is underperforming as compared to others in the group in general and within Fidelity especially.

Do you think the bounce back with the current ongoing issues or will it start chronically underperforming like Fidelity Aggressive Growth has done over the past 7 quarters?

Underperformance is the price you pay for caution...not a bad thing, but you can't have it both ways. If you want the nice gains you have to risk a little....but risk isn't always that big scary monster... you just have to learn to live with it. If you want to get into FGBLX..you may see some improvement...and " global" investing really isn't that " risky" anymore...the most successful companies in the U.S. are the ones that are doing a good portion of their business overseas...why shouldn't you?

Depending on the size of your portfolio, you could even take a tiny portion and put it in some even more aggressive globally... FEMKX...FSEAX...FDIVX...just open one $ 2500. fund... and in six months see if the " risk" is that scary.
