Senator Barack Obama?
did he really say he wouldn't say the pledge or put his hand over his heart? I want references please.
I appreciate all of your responses so far, I sent the picture to my email buddies, and got called an uneducated bigot, so I was just wondering what the photo meant. Thanks so much.

The link OZBE cites is an excellent source for this pic. Also, did You know that he is Muslim? In the source listed below, he states "he once was muslim, but also attended Catholic school" to downplay his muslim background. He was educated(enrolled) in the Wahabi school in Jakarta. This is the most radical and violent form of islam, who's main goal is to seek global islamic domination, and what better way to do it than to get elected to the highest office in this country.!! He joined the "United Church of Christ" out of political expediency. Also when he was sworn into office he used the Kuran, instead of the Holy Bible, for this ceremony. The source listed below, gives the entire history of his life on this planet, and his name is Barack Hussein Obama. Excellent source for this info. This will astound You, as it did me. Hope this helps answer your question

My niece sent me the photo, saying she would never vote for anyone who didn't put his hand over his heart.
So I looked around at the football game tonight. One woman didn't even stand up. Another couple never stopped talking.
Mothers didn't tell their children to stand up or hush, let alone salute.
A WWII era gentleman stood, but he didn't salute. He stood quietly until the song was over, then he closed his eyes as if in prayer, nodded slightly, and sat back down.
I worked with a woman who said she would not pledge to the flag or salute the flag during the Anthem because the country refused her basic civil right to have her marital relations recognized legally (she was gay).
I've read on this site that the etiquette requires a salute of hand over heart unless you are in uniform, in which case you provide appropriate service salute. I've injured my elbow recently, and standing with my hand over my heart hurt, so after a few moments, I lowered my hand and stood quietly with my hands clasped in front of me.
While I think we should make an effort to follow cultural norms, we have to recognize that some norms are not being transmitted, and we either need to teach them civilly or hush.
(I might mention that I live in a community where the majority of the people are Republicans and describe themselves as both patriotic and conservative.)
