Can you successfully change your career at 60?
Or, is it best to keep doing what you are doing until you simply can't do it anymore?
I have a number of things that I would love to do, but my overdeveloped sense of responsibility says that it would be foolish and financially disastrous.
Any thoughts on what I should do, who I should talk to, agencies, "life coach", ways to evaluate whether one path would be better than another? Have you done anything like this and succeed? Advice?

You can have several careers over a life time. Many people are retiring early and starting a second career. Be prepared that you may not make as much at this new career but you may be much happier. People are now living into their 90s which means that they have 20-30 years after retiring to fill up. Think what went on in your life from 25-55 and then it will be put into perspective. Yes I totally changed careers in my 50's. I went back and got another masters degree and opened my own business which turned out to be very successful. The upside is that I love going to work every day.
