Natural Oral Care?

What are some natural ways to take care of your teeth and mouth. My dentist told me I need to get a RX. strength toothpaset with extra extra flouride to help with my tooth decay. (I had no cavities at the time of visit) And that I have gingervitas and need to use an antiseptic mouthwash. Any suggestions on natural products or treatments to avoid extra flouride and harsh chemicals.

Although it doesn't fall into the "natural" category (various kinds of food products, etc.), I have had the best success with hydrogen peroxide solution. Dilute the peroxide using 1 part water and 1 part peroxide, then rinse as you would with mouthwash, being sure to rinse vigorously for at least 30 seconds. For preventive measure, do this at least 1 to 2 times a day. To speed healing of canker sores or sore gums, do it at least 2 t0 3 times a day.

As an alternative to diluting the peroxide in water, you can also dilute it in antiseptic mouthwash (e.g., Listerine) and do the same procedure as above. The antiseptic mouthwash kills bad breath germs, and the peroxide helps with the others.

Don't worry if you happen to swallow a small amount of your diluted peroxide; at the very low concentration you wil be using, it's relatively harmless.

I have used Toms of Maine toothpaste for years. i prefer the taste to the sweet store brands and they have very good total care paste.

I always beleived that we get enough flouride from the water supply and certains fruits and vegetables.

For a mouth wash I use good old hydrogen peroxide. it clean and disinfects. and contrary to popular belief is not bad for you, even if you swallow it... it also helps to keep your teeth nice and white...

Just keeing you teeth cleaned and flossed will help with you gingavitis. I am sure that someone will post the homeopathic remedy, that escapes me right now, for good oral health...
