Try some Vick's Vapor Rub on your chest and back. Alka-Seltzer makes some good products also. Get well soon!

oh my, you sound really sick. no offense, but sometimes doctors are stupid; as in they are quick to assume the lesser of possible scenarios. if you feel it may be something more serious (pneumonia, strep throat, etc), get a second opinion, or tell him you feel it's something worse. however, if it is nothing too serious, you probably just have a bad flu. has anything like that been going around at your school? the best you can do is get as much rest as you can, drink PLENTY of fluids (water, but orange juice too, as it is loaded with vitamin C), wash your hands often, keep at a comfy temp and take vitamin C. sadly, with things like this, you just have to let it take its course. but keep taking robitussin or any expectorant that will help loosen the yucky stuff you've been coughing up. that's a good sign in itself cuz your body is getting rid of the nastiness. i know you feel horrible, but hang in there and feel better soon!!
as for the vomiting, eat something light like toast, chicken noodle soup or applesauce. it's very important to eat and give your body as much nutrients as possible. if you find you can't keep anything down, see your doc again, or a different doc for a second opinion!

Boil water and squeeze lemon in there with some honey and drink it 2 or 3 times a day.
Drink lots of water.
Avoid oily, sugary, dairy products, caffeine, deep fried food until you are better.
You can try a sauna or steam room.

you can drink about 8-10 glasses of water per day
plenty of fluids is good for you it should last about a week but
if the phlegm is yellow/greenish that means it's a bacterial infection you should either wait it out or get a second opinion

Theraflu night time (APPLE CINNAMON) and about 5 vitamin C pills and take 3 more the next day and I promise you will be straight. You should sweat it all out that night.
