When was the last REAL miracle?

I'm not talking about my grandmother's friend was in the hospital with cancer and we all sat around and prayed for her and god cured her type 'miracle'

I mean a real honest to god no logical or scientific explanation behind it type miracle that is for lack of a better word, miraculous in nature.

The bible is filled with these amazing stories of unnatural events... yet nothing like that happens now?.

Update:

songndance - please give an example of these miracles? accepting god into your life and you start feeling happier does not count. I mean a REAL miracle, something say like preventing the WTC from collapsing until every one was evacuated!!!

Update 2:

Surely there has to be proof of some type of miracle in recent history.

becoming a Christian is NOT a miracle no matter how you slice it... BIG TIME miracles happened a lot in the bible, so why did they stop and when was the last documented miracle?

Update 3:

Granny Annie - THANKS! Great effort and thought out.. The one thing I don't understand about Fatima is how the girls said that they saw Mary and she was "brighter than the sun" I don't know about you, but if something was brighter than the sun, it would be very hard for me to ascertain a figure and detail out of it.

The last "biggie" was probably at Fatima, Portugal in October of 1917.

    Went something like this:

For 6 months three peasant kids had been claiming that the Mother of God was gonna do a spectacular thing in mid-Oct. As time went by and word of mouth and the atheistic press' enthusiastic dumping got around, thousands of people trudged out to the little field. For two days prior to the event it rained heavily. Now the rain in Spain may stay mainly in the plain, but apparently in Portugal it has a fondness for hilly areas, because the newspaper reporters who covered the event all said that the mud was literally knee-deep wherever there was any ground at all. The tracks and trails used by carts and cars were swimming depth in mud. Didn't stop folks though. The reporters' estimates of crowd numbers ranged from 50,000 to 75,000, hundreds and hundreds of them sick, crippled, disfigured from lupus or otherwise NOT healthy.

The children came, they knelt, they prayed the rosary. Those in the crowd who were believers knelt and prayed with them. What the children say they saw and heard is not moot to this. What the reporters, the crowd and even a few photographers saw IS.

First the rain stopped and the sun came out.

Then the sun decided to dance. It spun like a top, then threw off multi-colored rays like spitting rainbows which spilled their colors all over the field and the crowd. Then it appeared to plunge toward the earth, growing larger and more bright, though not hotter. People went ballistic, certain that it was the end of the world. Then, the sun went back to its original place and people, after they got over their terror at the sun's antics, noticed that they, their clothes, their carts, their cars and the ground were all bone-dry. Not a drop. As if it hadn't rained in two years.

Because this was less than 100 years ago and because the newspapers were so antagonistic to the church and to the idea of miracles, it really gets miraculous when you consider that those reporters reported what they saw. And their editors printed it. Period. Very few papers, and those what we today would call tabloids, made any commentary or editorial opinions at all. They just printed the story.

And for those pooh-poohers, guess what, folks. Those photographs still exist! So do those news accounts.

In the history of mankind and miracles, never has there been one that was so well-documented, so hugely witnessed, so spectacular, just as Our Lady said it would be. And yes, the dance of the sun WAS witnessed all across Europe that day. Thousands of people remarked upon it in their daily journals, including soldiers from both sides of the Great War, none of whom were even IN Portugal that day.

Miracles ceased with the death of the apostles. The only people who had the ability to do miracles were Jesus, the apostles and those the apostles granted the power to do so. However, those other than the apostles, who had the power could NOT pass it on. So once the apostles were gone and those who the apostles passed it on to were dead, the miracles ceased.

Presently, the real miracle that is still happening is to see the work of grace in the hearts of men, that the blessed Holy Spirit may turn

a child of darkness into a child of light!

That is the greatest miracle today!

How do you know nothing happens like that now?

I know there are a lot of phony healers out there, but God still works miracles. I have seen him change people's lives and work things out that were impossible.

there is no order in miracles. every miracle is of the highest order. miracles occur naturally, and the only reason they do not happen is because they are impeded by our own will.

if i told you the last miracle, you wouldnt believe me.
