what's with all the religious fundamentalists in the USA?

and why do they all seem to be in the central part of the country???

Update:

(I mean, for instance, when ignorant people say things like "we are a Christian nation" … NO we’re not. There is NO national religion. People are free to believe whatever they choose and should let others do the same.)

400 years ago they got kicked out of Europe and had to end up somewhere.

Why in the Central USA? Not much else to do there except go to church and judge the people that aint there.

The idiot beneath me, Whitehorse, is quoting from David Bartons poorly put together book "The Myth of Separation". Here is a site that discusses Barton's editing techniques and how he twists and misrepresents the opinions of certain cases to suit his agenda

This Nation was founded for the purpose of freedom of religion, like not being chastised by the Chatholic church of England.

Most if not all of the first settlers were CHRISTIAN. The majority of the population has been Christian for many years up until the last 30 or so. Christians are living all over the U.S. In fact there are many in Arizona. Those who live in the middle just happen to live there, and that is refered to as the Bible Belt across the Country. This includes all the Christian religions not just the Fundis. I don't really meet very many fundamentalists. I meet more protestants and Baptist, and Catholics. I hope this is helpful.

specific. those idiots planing on burning the Koran are putting us all in danger. mockingly, it rather is the variety of crap that the Taliban feeds off of. they're with the aid of no skill merchandising freedom of religion, between the middle recommendations that our u . s . replaced into in step with. And specific, they are going against their own religious teachings, which say "love thy neighbor."

Same as everyone the the USA, we all believe certain things, some the same, some different. That is what makes our country great. What is with what you believe?

There are a lot of people in the US. Even 0.0025% of the third most populous country is A LOT OF PEOPLE.

    It's over 750,000, in fact.

We are a Christian nation, and those of us who are Christians are grateful for all God has done.

    I am in Los Angeles.

...the Supreme Court, eight years after the passing of the First Amendment, declared in the 1799 case of Runkel v. Winemiller, “Religion is of general and public concern, and on its support depend, in great measure, the peace and good order of government, the safety and happiness of the people. By our form of government, the Christian religion is the established religion; and all sects and denominations of Christians are placed upon the same equal footing…”

(This in no way removes freedom of religion)
