Know a lot of music? Please help me find this song! From the 90's, sort of alt rock ...?

Looking for a song I heard on XM radio last night. Sounds like a male band, possibly Our Lady Peace, similar to Matchbox 20, lyrics were SIMILAR to the song "15 Stories" by Mighty Joe Plum and probably came out around the same time...

Said something about catch me when I fall, something about drowning (? not literally)... I know it's not much to go on but if anyone has any ideas I'd greatly appreciate it. Those aren't the exact lyrics but I'm searching like crazy to try to find the song. It's one of those that I know it a little bit when I hear it, but I can't think of it when it's not on AT ALL. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
