Should I wear something under a shirt dress?

I recently bought a shirt dress from Express (http://www.expressfashion.com/products.jsp?categor... Should I wear something under it, though? A slip? It buttons up all the way from the bottom to the top, so I didn't know if I should have something on underneath in case I get a gap between two button holes or something.

Update:

Not sure why the link didn't copy well, but www.express.com should work.

i would say wear a slip if you arent comfortable with wearing it without one..

at least wear a slip for the first few times you wear it, incase there are gaps between the buttons..

but if there isnt after a few days of wearing it, thendont bother with the slip if you dont want to wear it =]

Many women don't bother with a slip under dresses or skirts. I still feel more comfortable with them, at least with most 'girly' clothes. I try to keep a full slip & a couple of half slips, one that's sort of nylon/silky fabric that won't catch or ride up on the skirt fabric, a cotton one for loose 'prairie' type skirts, & my favorite, I'd cut the bottom half off of an old flannel nightgown & made a slip from it for cold weather. It's great with longish skirts in winter, really helps keep me warm. But with a dress that buttons down the front I would want something under in case of 'gaps'.

The link doesn't work so my guess is, if your shirt dress isn't too tight on you than it won't pull on your buttons leaving gaping holes. However, you should wear a slip if it makes you more comfortable.

Maybe you should wear some leggings underneath the sirt dress so if there is a gap or anything happens then it wont show.
