  • Nipple CBRs vs barbells? Can you still sleep topless with CBRs?

I've had my piercings almost a year now with barbells the whole time. I'd like to wear some CBRs for a while... now that my piercings are healed and more resilient... but can you still sleep topless with these? I'm worried that they'd be more prone to catch on things while sleeping or that my husband would snag them inadvertently while snoozing next to me. May seem like a silly question... but anyone else out there sleep topless with CBRs without problem? They are 14g, 3/4" diameter. ( I know that seems like a big diameter, but I am pretty deep and needed a larger size).

  • When you record your weight on barbell squats.. do you count the bar weight?

The bar is 45 lbs. So if you throw your plates on top of that (let's just say 55 lbs in plates) do you say you can squat 55 lbs? Or do you say you can squat 100 lbs?

  • When ordering inventory for your small business, do you pay tax?

I work as a consultant for a home party company, and I've recently decided I wanted to try my hand at carrying inventory (We aren't required to carry inventory, but I've decided I want to try it). When I order inventory for myself, to take to parties and sell, do I charge myself tax on those items? Sales tax in my state is 7% and we have to pay tax AFTER shipping. So, for example, if I buy an item for inventory that is $14 retail, and $7 wholesale, and then it's $6.95 for shipping....

    Would I pay:

    $7 + $6.95 + $0.97= $14.92 (Tax is payed)

    OR

    $7 + $6.95= $13.95 (No tax payed)

The biggest reason I ask, is because when I turn around and sell this inventory to customers, they will have to pay tax on their purchase.

As far as business, our corporate offices file our sales taxes on our behalf. Also, we do not have any sort of tax exempt numbers or filings, and where I live, we do not have to have a business license (since I just work from home).

  • Taping down nipple piercings for MRI of knee?

Ironically enough, I got my nipples pierced last week, and now, after a doctor visit today, I'm scheduled for an MRI tomorrow. I called the MRI office and explained my situation- that either the MRI would have to be scheduled 8 weeks out, or some other alternative would have to suffice. They advised me that I could tape them down and that it wouldn't be a big deal. I asked if it was critical- if even after taping them down, if they would rip out. They assured me that if they were taped it would be fine. Any fellow piercees out there, or MRI operators? Can you confirm that this is solid advice? Not that I don't trust the MRI operators, but a second opinion never hurts.

  • Anyone else frustrated by the amount of spam here?

I feel like every question I see has at least 1-3 spammers posting the same message and links over and over again- word for word! Enough is enough! Some of these posts don't even relate to the question! Tell me I'm not the only one annoyed here!

  • Newlywed and only want to spend time with husband...?

My husband and I got married Oct 2008, and now it's nearly Feb of 2009. I feel like I want to spend all my time with him. I have a hard time going and doing things with church, and friends, family, etc. without him. I have a hard time committing to activities that I know I'll be doing without him. Is this a normal feeling to have? I feel like some people are tired of me always saying "no" to things because I'd rather be spending time with my husband. Is this a normal feeling when you are newly married, or do I need I just need to get over my fears and be more comfortable with doing things apart from him? I just feel like we already have so little time together (he spends 2 or more hours of every day in his commute) that I don't want to eat up any of the remaining time by doing things apart from him.

  • I have some refrigerated cold gin, but I don't want to store it in the fridge, is it okay warm it back up?

I ordered some specialty gin through the mail as a gift for someone, but it arrived cold. I can't store it in the fridge or freezer, or else the recipient of the gift will find it. Is it okay to let it warm back up and wrap it? Or does it have to stay refrigerated once it's been chilled?

  • Conversational Spanish... how do improve and not forget?

I studied abroad in Spain for a summer about 3 years ago. I also graduated from college with a minor in Spanish. Time has passed however, and I find I rarely have the chance to mingle or talk with Spanish-speaking people in order to practice. I don't want to forget everything, though! I can already tell that over the years my vocabulary and verb conjugation has gotten worse. What are the best methods for both improving my Spanish as well as maintaining the ability? Is it best to listen to Spanish radio? Watch Spanish TV? Read Spanish newspapers? I would get involved with some sort of classes or volunteer work if I could, but there's just not enough hours in the day for me to fit something like that in my life right now. I was hoping I could get some ideas here for how to improve and retain my Spanish fluency (or lack of it as of late!) Most of the books/textbooks I see out there are too basic to be of much benefit to me.

  • Is it normal to feel an urge to have a baby although I have no desire to have one?

My fiance and I have been together for close to three years now and we'll be getting married in about a year. We have talked about children in length, and we both agree that we want to wait 2-4 years after marriage to have a kid. I in no way want a child right now and enjoy our freedom together too much to want an addition to the family any time soon. The strange thing, however, is that on some other level, I want a child badly. I think a big part of that is that nearly all of my close friends are pregnant, or recently had a kid. Is it normal to feel some kind of subconcious or physical urge to get pregnant, even when on all other levels you have no desire to have a baby? Has anyone else ever felt this way? Part of me wants to be pregnant, but the everyday rational part of me wants nothing to do with having a kid.

  • Should I wear something under a shirt dress?

I recently bought a shirt dress from Express (http://www.expressfashion.com/products.jsp?categor... Should I wear something under it, though? A slip? It buttons up all the way from the bottom to the top, so I didn't know if I should have something on underneath in case I get a gap between two button holes or something.

  • Is it normal for my dove to coo so much?

Please only answer if you have personal experiences owning doves.

I have had my dove for a couple months now. In the beginning he was very shy of us and very quiet. Now he is much more comfortable with my fiance and I- he perches on our hands and likes to be near us. However, our biggest issue is his incessant cooing. Sometimes he'll coo for ten minutes straight without stopping. Right now he is the only dove we have. We didn't want to get him a mate because I've heard that if they have another dove to interact with they will not bond with their human owners. I try to make the best life for him I can, but I worry that he is lonely during the day since both my fiance and I work. I do leave a mirror in the cage, though, when he is home alone so he has some kind of company. Also, when we are home, he gets free range of the house. I've tried removing the mirror, leaving the mirror. We've tried "cooing" back at him when he starts cooing. Is it normal for him to be so vocal?

  • Is it possible to have different pronations for different feet?

My fiance, while riding his bike behind me while I ran, told me that my left leg/foot appears to go foward somewhat normally, but that my right foot sweeps out to the right before going down in front of me. The running store told me I was an overpronator, but could there be more to it then that? When I do encounter a painful run, it's almost always involved in my right leg/knee/ankle in some way, and it always has, ever since I was a kid and in sports. Any ideas?

  • Another horribly bad question for humor: Should women not be allowed to give their children up for adoption...

That way we can force parents who want children to get a child that is already up for adoption. I mean... it may not be a little baby, but that 12 year old wants a family just as bad, right? Maybe once all the kids are out of the system we'll open it back up to new kids.

Oh don't hate me.... these questions are just for humor and starting conversations, so don't get too upset. It would definitely not work out well for the people who weren't allowed to give the child up for adoption, though. Obviously this solution wouldn't work.

  • If a woman is on contraceptives and also using condoms, but still becomes pregnant without knowing...?

If she didn't know she was pregnant, and continued living live as such- occasionally drinking with friends, continue to take her birth control, riding some giant scary rollercoasters that pregnant woman aren't supposed to ride, and a good 3-5 months pass without her knowing she was pregnant..... I'm assuming there'd be some chance that her baby would be deformed or damaged in some way? (I guess I could be wrong, though). Would an abortion be in her best interest? Would you be opposed to her having an abortion... explain your thinking.

And no... I'm not pregnant and none of this has ever happened to me, but I thought it would be an interesting conversation starter.

  • If all babies were planned, wanted, able to be afforded and cared for- how do you think the world would be?

I'm not going to lie- this question has an abortion slant to it. If all babies were planned and wanted by their mothers, and babies that were not wanted, not planned, couldn't be provided for, etc., simply were never born because they were aborted... how do you think the world would be different (if different at all). This is all hypothetical and would never happen of course, but one result I guess I could see would be that there would no longer be adoption agencies. Any other thoughts?

  • Living in IN and commuting and working in Chicago... what is it like?

I have my second round of interviews coming up with a company in Chicago. I live in Merrillville, IN which is considered part of the greater Chicagoland region. If I get the job, I plan to probably take the South Shore to Millenium Station, and then the #20 (Madison, I think) bus over to where I work. I was looking into the CTA trains, but there aren't any stops close to where I would be (near corner of W. Washinton Blvd. and N. Sangamon St.). Is this area considered the Loop? Or the west loop? I'm still learning more about the regions. What is crime like? Cost? What is it like commuting daily to Chicago? I've ridden the South Shore before, but only in the afternoon and evening. I've heard it can be very busy during rush hours. How is the bus system? Tips, suggestions, encouragements? I'm pretty excited. I find Chicago a bit intimidating but I really like the city and the few times I've been there over the past few years have been good. Plus, you can't beat Gino's East or Giordano's!
