Do Browns fans agree with me?

Anybody who believes that this game was a positive step forward is lying to themselves. Once again, we let a big lead slip away against the Steelers. I'm sick of getting embarrassed by our arch rival, and until we beat them at least once, we will NEVER be a contender. If not for Josh Cribbs, we would have been blown out again. This game was not much different than the first meeting, and if you look at the numbers, maybe worse. Now the players have even more doubt in their heads that they can beat this team. For me, this puts a whole damper on our season, and even if we win 12 games this year, it will still be a dissapointment.

Thanks for letting me down again, Brownies!

Update:

Hey, I know they made improvements against other teams, but 1-15 vs. the Steelers?

...and to those of you that say I'm not a true fan, I've lived throught Red Right 88, The Drive, The fumble, the move to Baltimore and the Butch Davis years. Oh yeah, also include the Indians and Cavs debacles that are too numerous to mention.

Update 2:

total yds: Pit 401, Cle 163

Update 3:

I was at the first game!!!

Update 4:

True fans would be pissed today! Not happy that we're making progress!

Agreed - they got a huge boost from their special teams (something that I wish the Eagles could get from time to time!), but the brightest thing you can look to is that you took care of the football against a very tough D. Anderson did not turn the ball over, and you scored TD's. That's a winning formula, but you were still outplayed. You need some defensive improvements if you want to close in on the Steelers.

obviously you were watching a different Browns/steelers game that I...both times. Cribbs was big....that is what special teams are supposed to do. But Frye certainly did not score 3 TDs.....and if you actually are a fan...you would have listened to the players post game. No, they are not happy to lose......but they proved to themselves that they CAN compete. 2 muffed plays stopped the win.....Micginest not getting Big Ben on that 3rd and 10....and Dawson missing a long field goal in a hostile environment. They played great...the first half the defense was lights out.

What happened? The Steelers made some adjustments at the half...and showed why they are still (for now) number 1. They are a greatr team on both sides of the ball. Crennel and Savage have finally gotten rid if all the crap players that were there in Cleveland, and have built a great offense.....now with folks like Eric Wright and Leigh Bodden, they are going to be able to address th Defense.

(Crap....they lost to the Patriots...just like the rest of the NFL...and have lost to a dominant rival twice...this time just barely. Heck if it werent for icing the kicker...they would have beat Oakland. That is the only loss to be dissapointed in)

If you are such a fickle fan that you cant see the improvement, and give the credit where it is due......maybe you should start rooting for the Colts or something!

Source(s): Not a Browns Fan!!!! But I am sure impressed with their 180 this season.

As a season ticket holding Browns fan, I have trouble agreeing with you. Let you down?? Far from it did they let us down. You don't need to out yardage the other team to win a game. The Browns are so far ahead of ALL past Browns teams since their return to football. Do you get up on Sundays looking forward to seeing them play? With a realistic shot at winning? Almost every game? Pittsburgh is far and away the better team and it took a missed kick to keep the game from overtime! The Browns are less experienced, the defense is scary. And yet here they were going toe to toe with one of the AFC's best. Disappointed? let down? I think not! Too many REAL reasons for optimism. And just think. Should they make the playoffs, which is not totally unrealistic, they could probably meet the Steelers one more time. WHAT A GAME!!!! Yes the results were disappointing. GO BROWNS!!!!!!!!!

The Browns have come a long way and are getting better. They finally have some pass protection, a decent offensive line, and some good receivers. Now if they can get a defense that doesn't allow other teams to convert every 3rd down - they might even be contenders. Give them another year or two.

In the NFL, a big part of it is the attitude that you know you can win. The Browns aren't quite there yet.

what do you mean ?? The Browns have come a long way since opening day they had been beaten 34-7 by the steelers now they are 5-3 and they only lost 28-31 because phil dawson came up short , if you ask me the browns could be a contender if they had a running game , as a ravens fan why do you think we let him go, because he is a bum, we also let derek anderson go because we're idiots, but, if you get a better running back, and some defense then you can be a force to be reconed with in the afc, but if you's were in the nfc you would probably be the best team.

If you're sick of being embarrassed, then it's time for you to pick another team to root for. I am a Brown's fan all the way, even though I'm no longer an Ohioan. I believe in them & feel that they've come a long way. They just need to work on their defense. A true Brown's fan will stand behind their team, no matter what. I want to thank everyone here who has had positive things to say about the Browns, even though some of you have loyalties to another team. That is true sportsmanship. Thanks again. :)

The Brownies did let one slip away, but they lost to a top flight contender. It's not like they let the Dolphins come back and beat them or something. They should be proud they hung with the Steelers but also be aware that they gave the game away.

Im not a Browns fan, but I wouldn't feel too bad about Cleveland this year. They have gotten much better. The Steelers are the 2nd seed right now in the AFC, and the browns were in that game.

Go get a hankie, sniveler. You should be happy the Browns have made such positive strides this year. Try being a Raiders fan these past few years. No QB, no receivers, no coaching, a mediocre running game. Yeah, check out the AFC West, also known as the "Conference of Humility".

  • This is true if not for special teams the Browns score 7 points and were blown out again. Cribbs is a very great kick returner but you cant depend on that to win a game.
