How unacceptable is it to delay a Thanksgiving celebration until December 1st?

I think that it is completely acceptable. I believe that the spirit of Thanksgiving should not be limited to only one day, and therefore if your family wants to have the traditional meal on a different day, then so be it.

I've already held one Thanksgiving dinner this year with friends on October 5. And since I am pregnant & due with a baby any day now, my Thanksgiving may just be the first weekend in December as well.

The important part is that you keep the spirit of the day alive, no matter when you celebrate it.

Thanksgiving is about getting together with family, friends, and loved ones to celebrate and be thankful for all the good things in your life. So I would say it's acceptable to have it when you are all available.

For years we celebrated it on the Friday after Thanksgiving because my mom had to work on Thursday. One year I celebrated it on the first weekend of November. It still held the same meaning.

Depends on your situation just have a Happy Thanksgiving. My family celebrates twice one dad side the saturday after with mom side enjoy.

Sure - the date itself is just a number on a calendar. What's important is getting together with family and enjoying their company. You won't have to worry about Squanto rising up from the grave, hopping on a jet, and haunting you just because you waited a few days.

Just make sure that the turkey hasn't been thawed since Thursday, OK?

The main point is that you are having a family holiday, the date does not really matter. I live a long way from my family, so I would appreciate a family holiday celebration at any time.

it is totally acceptable to celebrate with the ones you love when it is suitable for all. there is never a bad date to be with family and celebrate all that we are grateful for!

Yes it's ok to delay it so everyone can be there.Having your family be able to be together is what Thanksgiving is about ...not what day it falls on.

Its totally fine! The holiday is about the feelings and gratitude versus the actual date celebrated.

sure its your family celebration...just because thanksgiving is the 22nd doesnt mean you have to have your family thing that day
