Which one of these two clinics seems better at spaying a rabbit?
There are 2 clinics that spay and neuter which one seems more reasonable to you? The first one, Animal Birth Control is located in Lomita near Torrance. (Which is 43 miles away!) And there is a clinic called Colima Animal Hospital. (5.7 Miles away) However, I'm really unsure because both are very different... I live in Diamond Bar and we are financially struggled, but I don't want cheap quality work either. Today I called them both and tested them with questions :
Animal Birth Control and Colima Animal Hospital Comparison:
ABC = Animal Birth Control CAH= Colima Animal Hospital
- ABC: $100 CAH: $79
- What anesthetics do you use? ABC: (Something and Isoflueorene together) CAH: Masking (What the crap is that?)
- Does the veterinarian remove both the ovaries and uterus? ABC: Ovaries CAH: Ovaries
- If we do the surgery, can we take them home on the day it is done? ABC: Drop 7:00AM, Get 3:00PM CAH: Like 9:00AM, Get 6:00 PM
BUT, The downside is that Colima Animal Hospital has bad reviews:
We are getting 2 rabbits today, so the price is actually going to double.
Colima had many customers that have lost their pets due to their carelessness and they only have 1 vet, (either really one or just one that does small animals...) and they are busy. (Last time I called, they made me hold for 20 minutes and then I just hung up. I did it again, and they said "We're busy, sorry.")
Now, Animal Birth Control is more trustworthy because they have good reviews, and is even posted on a website for clinics to spay and neuter rabbits at.
I just have a bad feeling about Colima.....
Oh here are some reviews for Colima:

5 reviews rating them a 1 in a row!

Only 1 but I'm looking for more.

Looks like you have answered your own question. Call the ABC and see if they offer multipet discounts. Some places will work with you. Also explain that you are finacially strapped, some communities have programs geared to help spay and neuter pets at a lower cost.

I think Animal Birth Control would be the best place to go. You don't want to put your rabbits lives at risk if they have bad reviews and some deaths at Colima.
Animal Birth Control might cost a little more but would you rather your pet die or pay a little extra?
I hope this helped. Some great info on spaying and neutering rabbits is here:
