ringing brothers circus?
I have never been to ringling brothers and barnum and bailey circus but i am going in january with my 9 yr old daughter...how is it? how long is the show? I have been to the local circuses that come into town and they are fun but usually they only have 3 elephants and 2 horses and some poodles...are there more animal acts at ringling?

We go to the Ringling Brothers circus every year, when it comes to Cincinnati. That's it's closest stop to us.
It's really good, the best circus around. It's roughly 2 hours long, but you'll want to get there pretty far ahead of time because they have pre-show things going on where everyone can go down on the floor and see some things up close.
Ringling Bros. definately has more animal acts, including elephants, horses, zebras, tigers, dogs, and cats. I'm pretty sure there are other animals, too, but I can't remember for sure.
There is lots of singing, lots of acrobatics, and acts with international themes. There are clowns, and motorcycle riders. That's always been my brothers favorite part, the motorcycles.
My son will be 2 when the circus comes to town this year, and I think we're going to try and take him. We dind't last year, because he was much, much too small, but my mom is really excited to take him to his first circus.
It's perfect for a 9 year old, but just be aware that you may have to fend off several requests for the different toys. Ringling Bros. always has lots of suvenier options, and most are expensive. What my parents always let us get was a snowcone that comes in a plastic cup. Each year the cup is different. Last year, there were ones shaped like elephants and clowns, and they came in a couple different colors. They were from $8 to $12, to give you an idea of prices.

Yes - lots more!
Make sure you arrive early, because they'll let you down on the floor to catch some of the acts close-up before the lights go down and the Big Show begins!
Be sure to bring extra cash for the Cotton Candy, popcorn, etc. It's just not a Ringling Bros. Circus without them!
It's probably a 2-hour show, I'd say...
Have a great time!!

I am sorry to hear about your cousin brother. However, this is the life that he chose. He chose to attempt to control something that cannot be controlled. It is a wild animal and it is in his nature to act acordingly as a WILD animal. A tiger is a wild animal and is not meant to be subjected to abusive "work" circumstances (repeating shows, whips, fire). A wild animal cannot be controlled and it should not be surprising that a captive animal may eventually attack, no matter "how good the food is". Also, being treated "well" is a matter of perspective. A wild animal is not meant to be kidnapped, taken to a place where he is held captive and often caged, living in filthy and cruel environment and forced to do a human's bidding. These beautiful and magestic creatures are worth more than the life of a slave can offer. I would suggest that you explain this to the children and wife so they can live a life without caging and abusing a wild animal and learn to appreciate and respect this, and all other animals.

It is a great show that should last between 1 and 1/2 to 2 hours.
Have fun.
