I am going to make a leap of faith here and say that, because of your icon, you're male. So here's some nifty guys to take as role models.

The biggie: St. Francis of Assissi - patron of animals and touted as the most Christlike of all Christ's followers, EVER. He's a tough act to follow, but they don't get mo bettah than him.

If you're into academia, then go for St. Thomas Aquinas, especially if study is difficult for you. He's the greatest of the Scholastics.

If war games are your forte, try St. Sebastian the soldier.

All of the Apostles are saints (except for Judas, of course). And don't forget Matthias, whom they elected to take Judas' place after Pentecost. Mark and Luke, the two evangelists not listed as Apostles, are also good.

If you like mystery, St. John of the Cross. If you're into leadership, then St. Ignatius of Loyola. For agriculture, St. Isadore. If you're thinking about a career in politics, then how about St. Thomas More? St. Francis Xavier is good for those who enjoy travel.

Pope St. Pius X would be good if you're contemplating the religious life.

For music, how about Pope St. Gregory the Great, the composer of plainsong, Gregorian Chant?

If charitable endeavors interest you, then St. Martin de Porres would be great.

    Hope this helped.

I chose St. Genesius. He was an actor who, in a play mocking Christianity, actually felt the Holy Spirit and was converted on stage during the performance.

Once the emperor he was performing for learned of this (Genesius confessed it), the actor was executed.

If I were going to do it myself, I'd go with St. Patrick, the patron St. of Ireland.

Of any saint, I have seen more people happy in the celebration of his day, and isn't that what life should be about, happiness?

I'm sure that those in the church who will be awarding you your confirmation have hoisted one in his honor on his day, and will understand why you chose him.

You should perhaps find a saint that is similar to you in terms of characteristics, temperament and personality, that might help?

but since the prophets also made mistakes ..I can't believe there is saint:

    >Adam and "Apple case"

    >Noah and his attempt to save his family

    >Jonah for loosing his faith

    >Muhammad and the "beggar story"

this should be your own personal search ; to see who you are like or that you would like to be more like in their nature; it is a personal choice and search
