Music can be very relaxing.
Other music can be very annoying.
Music can form a white noise over voices or other things that might keep people awake.
Loud music can keep one awake.

The other night I had a vivid dream that I was a waitress in a diner and I even talked with a southern drawl as I took orders and swung my hips as I walked away from the customers---complete stereo-type in the brain. I woke up and my husband had changed the channel on the TV to the country music channel when I was asleep. I have no doubts that the dream came from that awful, horrible, ickey music. (Did I mention that I am a hard core rocker?)

if its really quite music, it ok, loud can prevent u from falling to sleep. Slow music is better than faster music. It's more relaxing.
