how you understand this?
The idea that Jesus is God did not become part of Christian belief until after the Bible was written, and took many centuries to become part of the faith of Christians.

That is because it is a false teaching.
The Bible does NOT teach that Jesus is God.

What is the question here. Are u asking if this question or belief which was stated in your question is true or false?I do not question the belief of many christians that Jesus is God and even it took a thousand centuries until it became part of their faith. I wanted to give an example in the simpliest way. I am the father of my family and everybody have a surname of Soliman. Pls dont mistake my answer as a philosopical one. This reason is being compared to a family because of the understanding that so is God had one. This doesnt mean that God is a creation of a creator but the spiritual meaning that God wanted us to be . (The whole Humanities to be a Big loving and happy family.) I do beleive that we are a big family here in this world, brothers and sisters.

Two points:
Firstly, the first book of the New Testament was written within 20 years of Jesus' death (one of the letters of Paul) and the last one (Revelation by John) was written no later than 100 A.D., i.e. no later than about 60 years after Jesus' death. The books of the New Testament are not in chronological order.
Secondly, and contrary to popular opinion of some Christians and most non-christians, Jesus did say He was God. Here are just FOUR cases:
(a) The disciples were afraid of the storm when they saw Jesus walking on the water towards them. They became more afraid thinking he was a ghost. He then called out to them, "Be not afraid, I am". There are some mistranslations that rendered that as 'it is I'.
(b) Jesus told the religious leaders,"Before Abraham was, I am".
If you were to read the Old Testament when God first called Moses to go to Pharaoh, Moses asked God for His name. God replied, "I am".
(c) Jesus first forgave the paralytic of sins then healed him (the one that was lowered through the roof because his friends could not get to Jesus). Only God can ultimately forgive someone of sins.
(d) Jesus accepted worship.

It is not a false teaching as hoped for here. For the sake of space let me have you search out a piece written by John Navone, Our Triune God. It shares how people experienced God in the three ways, Old Testament God, New Testament God in Jesus and the Holy Spirit Who Jesus sent after he left earth. Certainly there is faith involved in this mystery, but because it is a mystery, that doesn't make it untrue. My guess is that all of you who have not experienced the power of God, have either never earnestly been seekers of Him or while on that journey been hurt by a Christian in some manner. Let me apologize for the latter and encourage you in the former. You have absolutely nothing to lose at this point. But what you have to gain is a loving relationship with the One who created you. You all sound so angry, so edgey. No one is trying to brainwash you, just trying to introduce you to the One who can change your life and eternal destination. I know the last part sends you guys for a loop, but if you will seek and find Him the rest will fall into place. I love you guys with the love of Christ.

The Christian faith is like most others based on FAITH. So we know that Jesus is God because of our faith. Here is my thoughts on Religion all together. God, Alla, Jehova what ever you call him. He did not create different religions, he created the believe. We as humans have seperated ourselfes into different groups based on our own needs. Just like we do for everything else, we have this need to label everything. Catholics, Anglicans, Muslims whatever are all just groups, clubs gangs of people all hanging out together thinking that they are the only ones going to heaven. I believe that God will judge us for that as much as for our sins. Why can't we all just believe and respect each other. After all I think that most religious "clubs" teach peace and love.
That's my two cents worth.

I find it as hard to understand as how Mohammad flew up to heaven and directly haggled with Allah about how many times to pray every day. It really doesn't make sense to me.
It implies Allah wanted people to pray at least 40 times per day, and Moses thought it was too much. Where did this come from? Were Jews asked to pray more than 40 times per day? I guess it's just another man made concept invented by men who want to control people.

The Apostles knew who He was it was always understood by the early Christians and the early Church Fathers.. However, Councils were held to declare truths that everyone all ready accepted but a few people would go off on some tangent like Arians or Gnostic's (which still show up from time to time with new names) and so they had to make official pronouncements.

Wrong. How many times does Christ have to say "I and my Father are ONE", before people catch on to the idea that God concluded that in order to do something once and for all, He had to come and do it Himself? Research the phrase "Son of God", and you'll understand so much better the whole thing.

False. "And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, [even] in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life." (1Jo 5:20) In the Greek, the word "houtos" means "This" and refers to the subject of previous sentence which in the Greek is "huios" or "Son".
