Can I salvage my broken Quarz crystal or does it have to be buried?
After nearly nine years of sharing greater and lesser moments with my crystal hung on its string around my neck, it got snagged into my turtleneck jumper and went flying when I took the jumper off. It fell on the floor instead of landing on the bed or on the carpet.
My question is, although it might have all happened for a purpose unknown to me, do I simply sand the sharp edges and keep the two parts, cleanse them and re-attune them or do I have to bury them in a good place?
The person that gave it to me told me that crystals have to be buried and returned to nature if they break, but I can't find out whether I have to de-tune them from myself if I do that or whether I really do have to part with them. Seeing as I was told never to let anyone else handle the crystal, I'm a bit unclear on the eventualities of someone digging the buried crystal up at some point in the future. I haven't found much info on the net and figure this might be a good place for "crystal mainainance" tips.

I don't know what the difinitive answer is...I would clear your energy from it by smudging it or in the salt water. Then if there is a place that is sacred or meaningful to you or others, bury it there.

Aw, it must be sad to have a broken crystal, especially if tuned to yourself.
I believe that the most logical action that you can do is to cleanse them and return them to nature - in your back or front yard.
If you don't have a back or front yard, in a favourite place of yours so it can be meaningful.
Just some suggestions.

I'm not at all a believer in the metaphysical crystal thing, but I do know a few things about their physical properties.
I think some charlatan may have sold you a hunk of glass if it broke like you desribed.

I am not one for superstition in regards to handling crystals etc
personally ... I would make something of it
I had a broken quartz once and me and the children made a lovely healing wand with it

I would de-tune from the crystal and bury it. Since it is de-tuned from you and not linked to you anymore, I wouldn't consider it your crystal after that.

Dude, it's a rock. Glue it, throw it away, make a watch with it... doesn't much matter. I promise it won't know any different.
