going to Sin City for a birthday bash in May what hotel do u recommend?

I went for the first time a few weeks ago and went with a huge group of people...we stayed over in vintage Vegas right off of freemont. I liked that it was near Hogs and Heifers but I was wondering about other places. I am interested in New York New York and The Tropicana so any recommendations are welcome...thanks

Update:

I dont go to vegas to gamble price is really not that big of an issue... I want to go to have a great time it'll be my 25th bday & i never really go to celebrate my 21st had a broke leg so i just want to live it up ... I would really like opinions on the hotels and their bars although I will be celebrating my birthday at Hogs and Heifers I fell in love with that place

I have stayed at the Tropicana my last two visits and have just loved it. I like it because you can get great rates and still be on the strip. The workers are friendly and even their buffet is pretty good (and I am fussy). The rooms are dated but they are clean. This last time I got a free upgrade in addition to paying only $150 for 5 nights. I had an awesome view.

I would also love to try staying at NYNY sometime but as long as the Trop gives me such great rates, I am staying there. I joined the players club and I get special rates mailed to me. And I am not a big gambler either.

Source(s): The first time I stayed there, I booked the room and then every week I would keep checking the site to see if rates drop or rose. If they dropped I quick gave them a call and easily was given the lower rate. My first trip was a great deal by the time I got there also.

We stayed at the Tropicana the week of Halloween, rooms were clean and descent. They could use a remodeling job, but what you should really think about before booking a expensive room is how much time are you planning on staying in your room?

I liked it because it was clean, the AC worked, not smelly.

My boyfriend didnt like it because it looked like the room had not been painted in about 15 yrs making the whole room appear old.

I would stay there again, due to the fact that it was cheap, right on the strip, accross from MGM and NY NY, pool was big.

Golden Nugget would be my next stay in LV. I thought they did an excellent job remodeling.

Bars - If price is not an issue then anywhere on the strip is good. I beleive we payed $12 for vodka and red bull. I thought that was a little steep but it's Vegas. Def check downtown, they have great deals on drinks, food, gambling, all kinds of stuff and it's great to see the older casinos.

Everybody is different when it comes to staying in Vegas. I've been there a lot of times and lately have been staying at the Rio. The standard rooms there are HUGE. 800 square feet. The buffet and restaurants there are the best in Vegas. The Voodoo Lounge is awesome. Its a rooftop bar that is fun with a great view. The Rio is a bit off the Strip but has free shuttles that run to downtown and the Strip every 10 minutes. Good luck and have fun.

I would definately recommend staying on the strip this time...it's a lot nicer & you'll have a ton of fun!

if money's not an issue, go big and stay at Wynn, Bellagio, Venetian, The Hotel, Caesars.

If you want more reasonable prices but still nice, go with Treasure Island, Mirage, MGM, NY NY, Luxor, Mandalay Bay.

Places i would avoid are Circus Circus, Excalibur, Tropicana, Flamingo.

    Have fun!

I recommend the MGM hotel, they have some reasonable deals for a 4 star hotel. A great club to celebrate at called 54 which is totally cool!

If you interested in staying on the strip then the type of promotions the hotels offer might tip you to this hotel or another, for a complete list of discount codes:

check out THEhotel, its part of Mandalay Bay. All the rooms are suite and modern. You could totally go with a big group of people, that's what I did when I went with 9 people.

Depends on how much money you want to spend, there is a big difference in prices depending where you stay, and when (if its weekend or weekday, or during a convention). Lots of factors
