My favourite part of Christmas is Christmas Eve! We have our main traditions on that night. We go out for dinner, and then we walk around this street called Candy Cane Lane where all the houses are decorated to the max! We go after dinner on Christmas Eve and it's so much fun with all the crowds. Afterwards, we go home, have eggnog and popcorn and watch a Christmas movie. We do the same thing every year, so it's lots of fun.
There isn't a lot I want this year. The only gift I've said I wanted was a hard cover coffee table book on Africa. Other than that, I have a feeling I'll get stuff for my home because we're moving into a bigger place just before Christmas.

Sadly my traditions are changing with my grandma (mom's side) passing and my other grandma being in a nursing home. So every thing is changing.
I will tell you what we use to do. My parents and I open our gifts on Christmas Eve, after my mom made this big dinner. Christmas Day my grandmas came over and we celebrated together. My mom made the best turkey dinner imaginable. Then we would open gifts. Then my dad would take my grandmas home.
This year we may just do our Christmas Eve thing and go see my grandma at the nursing home.
What I want is for my grandma and parents to have a nice Christmas.

Traditionally, my whole family get together just once a year at Christmas. It is a huge, joyous occasion.
Instead of the traditional feast we put on, this year we want to keep it simpler, we are going to have a big b-b-q, and lots of cold salads.
This year, I want to be able to spend more time with my grandchildren.
