It really depends on what horrible thing happened.

A death is a horrible thing, but I've never been nasty to other people over losing someone.

My mother called me up (and personally she is crazy) and accussed me of all sorts of weird stuff I had no idea what she was talking about.

Well I got really mad and fed up w/ her (she's always doing strange stuff, what bothers me about her is that she conviences herself that what ever she conders up is true that she actually tells my grown children)

So, yeah, I am alreay mad, I'm better off not talking to anyone till I calm down because I will be b#@%$ to anyone at that moment. Anger seems to have that affect.

I don't even know if you'd call it being meaner to other people, I just venting so much, they don't want to hear it anymore and I don't blame them....

So, not sure if I answered your question or not, it's actually a very open question..Define "HORRIBLE"?

    Usually more horrible than nice.

It's a normal reaction. When something horrible happens to a person, they go through the stages of grief.

    The stages are:

    Denial

    Anger

    Bargaining

    Depression

    Acceptance

Even if it's a small horrible thing that happens, a person goes through the stages. They are just more intense the more horrible the happening is. Someone isn't really nice to others until they fully do the acceptance part.

I am nicer most of the time.I always try to look in the good in everything and I believe everything happens for a reason. You normally appreciate everything you do have and feel fortunate and blessed. There is always someone out there that has it worse then you.I never try to take things out on other people so I might be upset but I wouldnt show it.

Neither. When Im pissed off, I am mad but I dont take my anger out on others, so it doesnt mean Im nesscassary nicer or meaner

D: thats a hard one. It depends what I'm sad about. If someone close to me dies, and when someone tries to comfort me, I'd probably get mad at them. So I guess meaner because nothing as horrible would have ever happened to them. D:

It depends on what just happened. If its the persons fault that i'm talking to then meaner/if its not that person I am nicer while trying to hide the fact that i'm pissed. :)

I am usually nicer because I am more appreciative of what I have. Sadly a few days later I always seem to go back to myself and don't give so much.

It depends. I do know that after something horrible, when someone is kind to me, it moves me to tears (in a good way).
