What kind of price negotiation, if any, would I have if I put a deposit down on a used vehicle?

Either way, they get some of my money anyway, so is there generally any kind of room for negotiating?

yes they will usually give a few hundred bucks either way ,you can save a little on it the price it though so they can give so either way their still getting what they wanted for it,car lots don't and wont loose money they might make you think their breaking even but they make money they have to they pay out a lot for insurance and other things, you,ll get the deal you probably want on it though, good luck, and happy thanksgiving.

Negotiate he price first and then give them a deposit. Yes there is lots of room to move on used vehicles, that's how car dealers make their money. Shop around.

You would get the same negotiation. None if you don't do your research to find out what the car is really worth to include having it checked out by a Mechanic. Used cars from dealers have a large profit margin, so ask for a deep discount once you know you like it and know what its really worth. After asking for your price be prepared to walk if the dealer does not at least come close to your price. If you just go in and buy it they will laugh at you and call you the nick name for those that pay full price without asking for a discount. A "Lay Down". As in he just came in here and laid down so we could walk all over him. Good luck!

pretend u hardly have any money...trust me my step dad lowered the price by a thousand bucks and when they put his monthly payments at 267 a month he said he couldn't afford it and now he pays 235 dollars a month and a thousand bucks less off the sticker price...try it

Probably none if you gave them a deposit, but try anyway.

you would need to do the haggling before you placed a deposit unless it was to hold it until a engineer could check it.

you could if it was a private dealership it is easier but if it is a bigger dealship it is kind of hard but you can ask them if there is a car like it that is a little cheaper or something i am really unsure sorry.
