10 years later, my high school crush is still single... should I ask her out?
So there's a girl I've had a massive crush on since 7th grade (she never knew about it), and it's been almost 10 years since we graduated high school. Turns out, I saw her on a dating site, and she still lives near me, and is single (obviously).
Anyway, would it seem really odd to a girl if a guy from her high school asked her out on a dating site 10 years after graduating?
We always had some odd mutual interests, like how we both became black belts by high school, we both owned Pontiac muscle cars back in the day, we both rode horses, etc... but she was also one of the smartest girls in school whereas I barely graduated, and her friends really hated me alot, so I never really pursued her.
What you all of you think?
Thanks! :-)
5 AnswersSingles & Dating10 years agoWhy can I only successfully do math when I'm drunk?
This isn't a joke... This is a serious question that I'd like someone with Psychology/Psychiatry experience to answer.
When I'm sober, I cannot understand math... I can't even figure out 9 x 6 in my head. But put 5 beers in me, and I can nail my Algebra homework, every question, every time!
What is wrong with my head? Should I seek professional help? And if so, what kind?
Showing up to class with a six-pack in me doesn't sound like a good idea, and I'd like to fix the problem, not treat the symptoms.
---As a side note, when I play guitar drunk, I can nail pretty much any Jimi Hendrix song, but sober... forget it! Same goes with video games!!!---
Thanks guys!
3 AnswersMental Health1 decade agoHow much negotiating room (if any) would I have for a 2010 Camaro with a V6 and an Auto tranny?
With this being brand spanking new to the market, and something everyone wants, am I going to have any negotiating room on the price, even though it's pretty much a baseline model?
Thanks everyone!!!

Would "Alius pro ego" be proper, or is that wrong?
1 AnswerLanguages1 decade agoWhat engine tuning parameters help to lower emissions?
Hey everyone!
I'm a big car nut, and tuning for perfomance on a stand-alone ECU is commonplace, but I'd like to do my part for the environment when I'm just on the street, and don't need all the horsepower.
What parameters generally contribute to better emissions?
For example, is it better to retard or advance ignition? Leaner or richer fuel mixture? etc.
Thanks everyone!!!
3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoWhat major would be most helpful for a career within a state's government?
Hi there!
I'm in my 5th year with the US Navy and I finished my Associates in Electronics Technology, and it's time to work on my Bachelors.
I originally wanted to do Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, but about a year after I joined the military, my state went downhill fast, and I'd like to do something about it when my time in the Navy is finished in 2 years.
Obviously, political science is an obvious choice for federal government positions, but what other majors are out there that would be helpful for a state government system?
6 AnswersGovernment & Non-Profit1 decade agoPennsylvania... what would you like changed in your state?
Well, it's a question I asked 1 year ago, and some things have changed since then, so basically... Pennsylvanians, what changes would you like to see in your state?
5 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoIs there a good alternative degree to Aerospace Engineering?
Hey everyone!
I'll be leaving the Navy in a year after doing over 5 years of aircraft electronics repair, and I'll have an Associates in Electronics Technology, and I'd like to pursue a BS in Aerospace Engineering.
The problem is, I think the difficulty of the math required for the degree is beyond my grasp. Is there a good alternative degree that could help get my foot in the door with aeronautical design?
Thanks a bunch!!!
6 AnswersEngineering1 decade agoAre built-in Halon systems street legal?
Hi there!
The engine swap for my mid-engined sports car that is nearing completion, but I'm always think of "what it?", so to be ready ahead of time I was thinking of installing a Halon Fire Surpression Sysytem in the engine compartment. I figure with it being in back, there's no chance of the gas getting into the cabin, but are these systems street legal?
Thanks in advance!
4 AnswersSafety1 decade agoWhat solids can hydrogen migrate through?
I'm not a metalurgist by any means, so bear with me.
I know hydrogen has a tendancy to migrate through metal and make it brittle. Would this still occur on ceramic coated metal, or maybe even cryo-treated metal?
The metal in question by the way is cast aluminum.
1 AnswerChemistry1 decade agoWhat can be added to hydrogen gas to increase the minimum required ignition energy to ignite it?
Here's an interesting chemistry question...
When using hydrogen in an internal combustion engine, it has a tendency to pre-ignite due to a hot intake valve, and although there are things that can be done to the engine itself to fix that, such as ceramic coating the valves or adding sodium filled valves, I was wondering what could be added to the hydrogen gas itself to counteract the pre-ignition tendency? Possibly another gas mixed in? Would an alcohol spray have any effect if mixed in with it like it does with gasoline?

Either way, they get some of my money anyway, so is there generally any kind of room for negotiating?
9 AnswersBuying & Selling1 decade agoBetween 2 similar BMW's, is it worth shelling out an extra $3,000 for one with 20,000 fewer miles?
Hey everyone! I'm looking at two 2002 330xi Bimmers, both are pretty much the same, but one has 20,000 more miles on it than the other, but it's $3,000 less. With a BMW, is it worth the extra $3k to get those lesser miles, or is BMW's quality really so sound that I don't need to worry?

Hey guys! I'm in the market for a 2002-up BMW 325 or 330, and I was wondering what issues I need to keep an eye out for with this series, if any?
THANKS!!!
