Not sure about your question - what is a metal hold? Sounds like it is okay for them unless there is more you are not saying.

Unless its abrasive in some way(not entirely sure what you mean by hold,do you mean the handle?),you can check this by running your hand on it,and if it is,then figure out a way to cushion or cover it.Anyway they have decided that they like it there,but if its dangerous in some way,you could get them a play stand,attach their favorite food there,and encourage them to be there instead.Try millet,and their favorite veggies/fruits.Hope I helped,but try to clarify your question by adding in the comments part so I understand exactly what you are referring to.you can e-mail me or IM me as well.Oh a cupcake holder!O.K,I don't see that as being a problem...Good Luck!if its rusted or something though,I would worry about thier feet!

First of all, with not knowing what a hold is, let me just answer in general. Birds like to get to the highest places possible..it's in their nature like the wild birds get as high as they can in trees. Also, from the message I get from my own birds, you can't reach them up ;there. But if it was hurting their feet at all, trust me, they'd find a new spot.

hmm no i dont think so i have a parakeet 2 nd i put something metal there nd they like standing on it to but umm no nothing bad can happpen i guess they juss like the way it feels =]

probably 'cuz they need sth thin 2 hold on 2..........try 2 put some plastic sticks in their cage 2 stand on it cuz they have 2 hold sth with thier feet it's not comfortable 4 them to stand on a flat ground
