Because they say that they are. They can do whatever they please without fear of repercussions. The minute someone says something about the group they are a racist. It is ironic that the African Americans can have their exclusive groups, but you let a white person make a group and not include at least one African American, and it is considered a hate group, that is out to wipe the black man off the map. It is the same thing with Roland Burris, calling Harry Reid a racist because Reid, refused to allow him to be sworn in with the other new members of the Senate. It was over the fact that Burris didn't have a paper signed by the head of the Illinois State Senate. Burris is the one who had the group of journalists along with him as he threatened to sue Reid and the government.
