Arrogance or naivete?
Is it arrogance or naivete that causes some people to say that theirs is the one true god.
Man has invented many gods over the centuries and there has not been one shred of evidence to show that any of them exist.
Why should I believe that your god is the one true god?

In anyone under 18 -- naivete.
In anyone older -- arrogance.
Okay, okay, that answer is much too simplistic, I know. More than that, I don't even think it's true.
I think it's fear that makes most godsters insist on the truth of their religion. Because after all, "what if I'm wrong" has to be their Numero Uno fear.

Probably a little bit of both. But from my own personal experience it was ignorance mainly with a side of arrogance.
I did not realize, or should I say, think about how many gods have come and gone. I would not take scientific evidence against god seriously. I would just say "they have not found god yet and once they do they will all be put to shame". But I still respected science for the most part.
But I did have a certain respect for science and I realized that to be fair I had to look at everything objectively, including my own religion. So I did.
It was very hard, but I found that I was in error. But it was not entirely my fault.
When you are brought up in that system from birth you become brain washed in a sense and cannot see beyond your religion. If it was not for my respect for science and the scientific way of thinking, I may never have gotten out. I am happy to born in the information age.

Creation is the evidence of a creator...it's up to you to figure out who He is and how to commune with Him as one of His beloved children. There can only be one true God and He is not nor cannot be a projection of our own thoughts or reason for then He would not be God nor can we fully understand Him....His thoughts are above ours, our reason is foolishness to Him. We can only accept that He has revealed parts of Himself and His desires to us as written in the Bible and that Jesus is our Savior...He paid the full price for all of our sins through His sinless sacrifice, suffering and death on the cross and His resurrection. He has conquered death, his tomb is empty and He will come again one day to judge all of mankind....those that believe in Him will have everlasting life in Heaven.
1 Thessalonians 5:21
Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Pretty good cost/benefit ratio, as compared with some of the others. No need to make wailing noises regularly; no need to leave offerings; no need to carry a prayer rug around or wear funny clothing.

You should not believe my gods and goddesses are the absolute "one truth".
however...it's hard to say whether it's arrogance or naivete....=/
The people I feel sorry for are the well intentioned ones who are simply too weak minded to NOT believe in such a concept. but I suppose that's another story altogether.
Blessed beâ¥.

It's the product of religion brainwashing, although some only need a slight rinse.

I chose my God because he offers benefits like no other. I am constantly loved, I can repent by paying a simple 10% tithe, and I get to spend eternity in paradise.

You should never accept or believe someone claiming anything, unless they can provide you some evidence to support their claim.
