Hawaii is the only unbeaten team...?
Does it seem unfair to anyone else that despite their strength of schedule, being the ONLY unbeaten team in college football they are only ranked #12?
come on, give them a break! at least 3 or 4!!
they had michigan scheduled this year, but they backed out. it's not their fault no one wants to fly overseas to play them. it's a lot of money to get there & also they don't get very good media coverage when they play games at 12 and 1 in the morning.

Here's the thing I can't understand...why do we always have to bring up schedules when we look at the so-called mid-majors? The bottom line is they beat EVERY team they played...regardless of where they play. Do you think Ohio St. is deserving a high spot after beating a Michigan team that lost to D-1AA Appalachian St.? Of course, because they're in the Big-10 (not taking anything away from the Buckeyes...but they still lost a game). Prestige and schedules don't really matter as much as people think they do...because the bottom line is this team still beat everyone they played. They deserve to be ranked higher than a school with 2 or 3 losses, but has a history behind them (it's all about what you have done lately, not what you've done). Give 'em a shot!!

Hawaii plays in a VERY weak conference, they NEED to schedule at least one opponent every year from a top tier conference to get that high. I'm NOT trying to take anything away from Hawaii because they are still impressive, but do you think they would be undefeated if they played in ANY of the BCS conferences? Again as I've said in my other posts it's looking like another reason for a playoff system. Perhaps not a full out bracket but at least a plus one here.

If they beat a high qualify opponent in a BCS game then people they will move up like Boise state did last year. If they beat badly an opponent then they may get some number 1 votes but they will proably not be ranked any higher.
My Rankings
1. Missouri
2. West Virginia
3. Kansas
4. Ohio St.
5. Hawaii
6. LSU
7. USC
8. Georgia
9. Virginia Tech
10. Florida
Rock on Hawaii!

Is it fair? Probably not. But it's most likely accurate. Do you really think Hawaii would beat one of the top ten teams in the country on neutral ground? Boise had a strong argument last year when they and the WAC were both stronger, but I think Hawaii's record reflects their weak, weak schedule and their killer home field advantage as much as it does their talent. I do hope they get a worthy bowl game--if they can beat a VT or OU, say, it'd really advance their cause.

As long as Hawaii stays undefeated, they should be in......Screw the BCS and the schedules.. You still have to play... Boise State had a chance to beat them, and did not... Hawaii has done everything they can possibly do this season.....The BCS is FIXED, If any team with 2 losses get in to the National Championship game, Ten I say the BCS is fixed....

3rd or 4th??? WHY???
What makes you think Hawaii should be ranked 3rd or 4th in the nation??? Look at their schedule and results. What makes you think they are better than several Top 10 teams?? Is it barely scrapping by Nevada? Or the fact that they needed OT to beat San Jose St and Louisiana Tech???
Had they won all those games on that 142nd rated schedule 70-0, then maybe you could talk to me about 3rd or 4th. But c'mon, get real.

That's the BCS for you. Without a more common playoff system, we will never know how Hawaii will stack against the best. The same thing happened to Boise State last year. Nobody wants to play the weak WAC division.

Let's see, you go undefeated through the same schedule you play every year and never get a shot at the National championship. Why is that so perplexing? Change up your schedule to include tougher opponents or lower your expectations.

They should have blown out their opponents by over 50, and they'll probably be in top 5.

I would say no higher than #8 because of their schedule.
