What should I do here?

So check this out. My family is alright with money, but my parents are really strict about this. It's kind of a moral situation here that i need guidance on.

I got a speeding ticket on Thanksgiving night. That's already tense enough as it is. Now it is four days later, and I scraped a car int he parking lot. I have enough money to pay the ticket. That's not an issue, but there is a huge scratch on this other guy's car. He already agreed to let me pay for any damages out of my pocket, so my insurance won't be notified, and thus my parents wont be notified either. I don't think it would be a good idea to tell them about that right now.

My grandfather is cool, but he is way more strict than my dad. I think that if I am open and honest with him about this, he will spot me the money to even pay for a new bumper. I have a job at publix and can probably pay for it within a month no problem. Is it wrong to go behind my parent's backs on this? Do you think he would alert my parents?

No. It's actually a sign of maturity. You are being responsible for yourself and the other guy, you just don't want the drama at home because of your mistakes. You are borrowing, not taking the money for the car, and will be paying it back in short order. You are doing the right thing. You know your parents better than we do and if this is what you think is best to avoid drama, then go for it. If your gramps is lending you the money, he prob. won't say anything to your parents.

You know what, just tell them. You sound like a good son, have a job etc. You need to tell them and ask for advice as to what to do. Be a grown up and don't put your grandfather in the position of keeping a secret and going against your parents. Tell them, tell them all. It is not like you have committed murder, robbed a bank, or hit and run. Please be more careful when driving.

It's against the law to not report a car accident. Better hope the dude's car that you hit doesn't decide to call the cops and report you. You better just tell the truth. The truth shall set you free lol.
