I do yoga for the exact same thing
try: Yoga for Inflexible People
I also bought "the yoga deck" which is great for doing it at home. You can lay the cards out in front of you to do a sequence of poses.

There's great night time and morning yoga video packs you can usually purchase at a book store like indigo or chapters (if your in canada) i have no idea what they are in the states. (if that is where you are)
Yoga is very helpful - i have OCD and i use yoga to relax me after a long day , the breathing is amazing to relieve stress, the stretching helps get rid of the s tress in your shoulders and back, yoga is also great for menstral cramps, or any sort of pain.
Good luck!
If you need some poses right now, search yoga poses online and you can find a whole bunch!

Hi Jen,
I'd suggest at least 15minutes of meditation on clearing your mind and relaxing while focusing on your breathing
before going to bed. If you could repeat this in the mornings it would help you relax during the daytime,
A lot of people suffer anxiety disorders because of not breathing properly,
Yoga is meant to be very good for focusing your mind and body on breathing techniques as well as being a great way of exercising, Stretching, Relaxing being generally good for your
overall health.

I also have generalized anxiety disorder and I found that the best thing for me to do was not doing things while I was not nervous (like yoga) but finding strategies to deal with my anxiety at the precise moment. Maybe she wants you to learn it to learn new breathing techniques, but those never really worked for me either. One thing I have noticed is that if I don't eat I get really jumpy, or if i dont eat right I get the same way. Make sure you eat well, and your mentality will change with it.
ALso, remember to breathe, relax and enjoy the moment. =)

See page 2, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris for a couple, from memory. ANXIETY: See anxiety treatments, at ezy-build on page 6. Set yourself a fixed limit for worrying about any particular subject, (say; 15 minutes) after which, resolve firmly to refuse to even consider that subject again on that day: realise and accept that to do otherwise would be counterproductive to your mental health, and enjoyment of life. Use the technique for reprogramming negative thoughts and internal monologue (self talk), on pages 2, and 2L, to help you in this, and consider carrying a wide rubber band in your pocket; stretch, and release, as a means of reinforcing it, and speeding up the process, re-pocketing it afterwards. Practise one of the relaxation methods on pages 2, 11, 2c, or 2i, daily, and when needed. Also, give the EFT version for use in public places, (you can claim to have a headache, as you massage your temples, if you like) a good tryout, to see if it helps you. A direct to it is on page 3c, where starred * and pages 2, 2.q and 2.o also refer.
