I would advise you get one that wont break easy if hes new to it... a good starter plane would be this one... this is like the one i have... it has taken some rather big crashes... (Nose first onto concrete) ... Its made from a flexible material so it is alot more durable than most others... My friend got one that snapped when he had a bad landing.... so i would definatly advise you getting one like this

That is very smart and creative. Go for it! Just make sure you reserach it and get one that isen't too hard to control or flimsy. Nothings worse than coming up with a really cool gift idea just to have it turn out to be a piece of crap! Cudos on the listening thing too, that is often how I come up with my best gift ideas!

Get it for him. It's fun, nostalgic, and will make him feel like a little boy again. It's funny you asked this because my fiance asked for a remote control helicopter just this weekend.

I am 55 and I`ve always thought it would be fun to try, but they can be very expensive. If he liked his friends I think he would love it. You do need some wide open spaces to fly. Good luck!

I think they are pretty cool, but I wouldn't really want one personally. Sounds like he might though. I'd probably go for it.

it is a big expense for something he might not really want to do...especially if he doesn't have a bud that is doing the same thing
