If Protestantism came from Catholicism?

Why is there still Catholicism? Or is it that they have a common ancestor in Judaism?

Update:

(Sigh)

I officially give up on sarcastic commentary on the typical Creationist commentary on Evolution.

.

Update 2:

Tuberoot, I believe you're right: my approach here was too obtuse.

They both stem from Judaism, Protestantism stems from Catholicism because it was created by Martin Luther, a Catholic Bishop

Common ancestor in Judaism but more importantly, a common ancestor in the church that Jesus built on the Day of Pentecost. I think we should eliminate all Catholicism and Protestantism and just be Christians. That's what Christ's followers were in the New Testament.

From the Catholic perspective all Protestants are apostates. This is why Catholics have strong doctrines on authority and Protestants not so much. Or you could try a church that claims to be restored and to have had authority restored with it. Some Baptists claim to have come through the catacombs bypassing Catholicism. Most Protestants dodge the issue.

Catholicism got here approximately 1600 years till now Protestantism, lol. The Catholic church and the jap Orthodox church have transformations in this, yet they're surprisingly a lot an identical age. The pope in the Catholic Church is meant to the individual who's closest to God and waiting to communicate with him the excellent. for sure popes are in basic terms human, and there have been rotten ones by way of out historic previous, yet that's the final thought and the final 2 have been surprisingly standup adult males. Protestantism began simply by fact of corruption in the Catholic Church...the Church asked human beings to offer them funds to minimize the quantity of time their ineffective relatives individuals spent in Purgatory. a clergyman named Martin Luther have been given rather disillusioned approximately this and desperate to chop up off from the Church and create a denomination the place human beings have been meant to communicate immediately with god, devoid of want of intercessors or hierarchies that are a huge part of the Church. different than that....Catholics have self assurance in saints, Protestants do no longer. Catholics have a group of rites and sacraments, which incorporate Reconciliation that Protestants do no longer. each and each Protestant church is quite distinctive from another simply by fact their regulations are looser approximately how they're prepared...the Catholic church is quite unified and has one set of regulations that shop on with everywhere. wish this helped!

It would be like saying is the USA exists, why are the other countries still there. And didn't the USA spring from those other countries?

I believe that your approach is too obtuse.

Protestants saw the mis-teachings of the catholic doctrine and came out from her

Protestants broke off from the Catholic Church. It was more like civil war than evolution.

  • because protestants did not replace catholics, but branched off from them. It is sort of like how the US "came" from England but there is still an England.

    Catholicism is a cult.

The first Christians were all Jews that were fundamentalist in doctrine. Fundamentalism is the true Christianity.
