Buying new car with cash question?

If I buy my new car with cash at a lot where one of my friends is the finance manager will he make any money off of the deal? Even though there is no financing involved... I guess what I am asking is do finance managers make money off all deals at the lot or just the ones they set up financing for?

i would assume it varies from place to place...just ask him because im sure he knows. it does seem unlikely that he would recieve money unless he set up financing..maybe if he sold you the car he would get a commision.

When you enter business office understand the very polite person you will be dealing works on commission only, no sale no gain, and if you leave business office only having signed bill of sale with no after market products added you most likely got lucky dealing with an inexperienced business Mgr, or your very clever having learned some steps in the buying process.

SUMMARY... If you don't finance through dealer the business office makes zero.

they mostly make money off the warranty and other things they try to cross sell you at the table before you sign. There is a chance he may be making money off the volume of sales that is run thru the dealership depending on how big it is.

Yes they make money by selling you extended warranty and any

added options you purchase for your vehicle. The dealership also gets factory holdback and incentives from the manufacturer just for selling a car and meeting their quota.

Have him write it up on a contract and then when you get the first bill pay it off. You win and so does your friend.

I AM SURE THAT THEY GET A CUT OF EVERYTHING BUT AS STATED ABOVE THEY MAKE A LOT OFF THE EXTRAS THAT THEY TRY AND STICK THE CUSTOMER WITH AT THE CLOSING.
