No. A religious person doesn't believe in murder.

both. That is, if they have a culture that even cares about this issue.

I am assuming you are talking about christians.. Early Christians not only practiced herbal controled "abortions" (pennyroyal, mugwort) , but if those measures failed, they would simply leave the unwanted child out by the town well (if they were kind) for someone to pick up and raise as they see fit... be it as their own child or as a work or sex slave. Someties the infants were taken, sometimes they simply died by the well. ( The Romans especially practiced this)

Otherwise they were simply suffocated, drowned, given chaff to choke on or let outside and exposed to die naturally or eaten by wild animals. Sorry, grim but true. Abortion as a political issue is rather a recent development.

Aw... thumbsdowner... does the truth hurt? Most christians don't like this sort of reality check to their delusions.

In Exodus, god said if a man beats a pregnant woman and she loses the baby he shall pay a fine, but if the mother dies, a life for a life.

Seems like god doesn't place much value on the unborn, therefore the basis of the pro-lifers isn't religion. They're actually rebelling against god's word.

They shouldn't pray at all since the embryo has no soul (yet?). If they pray for the child, but support abortion, they're evil.

If he was a Hindu? Or What?

A Christian would pray for the doctor that just commited murder, as well as the baby!

    A word for Mr. Inquizitive...

75% of the abortions proformed in this country, sir, are proformed on Black women....and if 93% of them are democrats? Think about it.

A person has to have some strange religious beliefs to support abortion.

A truly religious CHRISTIAN person ( I cannot speak for other religions) could never support the killing of an innocent human. No matter what stage of development they are currently in.

Okay. Religion is what we call an optional defining choice. It's like sexuality, the type of car you drive, your favorite color, or what foods you eat. It's a choice you make. It's not a mind controlling decision making beast. People are completely capable of supporting things despite what the mainstream of their religious faith believes. If you are Christian, God will love you despite everything you do if you truly love him in your heart. God does not think anyone is a murderer or babykiller, or he would have done something about it.

Do you know the saying "Don't let your morals get in the way of doing what's right." ? I know extremally religous people who hate the entire idea of abortion and think it's one of the worst things you can do. However they uphold our rights and know that it is not their place to tell others what to do.

If you beleive in God you can't have or want any one to have abortions. God is the only who will decide who lives & who doesnt. The bible does say in the 10 comandments thall shall not kill! Any one who has had abortions has sinned against the word of God. If they pray before & after that is abomination to God & he will spit you out for being warm not cold nor Hot. it's all in the bible.
