Which car companies own who?

-GM ownes Saturn, Chevy, GMC, Hummer, Cadillac, Buick, Olsmobile, Pontiac, Saab, Vauxhaul, Holden and Opel. They bought Saab, Opel, Holden, and Vauxhaul in the 90's.

-Ford ownes Mercury, Lincoln, Jaguar, Volvo and LandRover. They bought Volvo, Jaguar and Aston Martin in the 90's. They sold Aston Martin this year to a Middle eastern car parts company.

-Daimler Chrysler owns Dodge, Mercedes, Chrysler, Jeep, Smart, Plymouth, and Mitsubishi. Chyrlser and Mercedes joined either in the 90's or the early 2000's.

-Mazda owns itself, but Ford owns a small percentage of Mazda so they can use some of their parts and designs.

-Honda makes Acura

-Toyota makes Lexus and Scion.

-Volkswagen owns and makes Audi, Bently, Skoda, Seat, Lamborghini, Spyker, Bugatti, and they work with Porsche.

-Porsche is their own company working together with VW. Porsche is buying VW and already owns about 45% of VW. VW bought Bently and Lamborghini recently and the Lamborghini Gallardo and Bently Continental Gt was designed after VW bought the two companies.

-Nissan makes Infiniti and Renault. nissan owns some of Citroen.

-Fiat owns Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, and Maserati. Maserati was bought around 4 years ago.

-BMW bought MINI and RollsRoyce. They bought Mini when they decides they wanted to redesign the car which was about a year before the current Mini Cooper came back.

-Subaru owns itself, but Toyota owns a small percentage of Subaru.

-Hyundai owns Kia. They recently bought Kia within the last 5 years.

Ford does not have anything to do with Lexus, not sure who thinks this but they are wrong.

This list is valid for Brands found in the United States, There are many more different companies and car names overseas.

Toyota owns Lexus and Scion, and since late 2005 owns about 9% of Subaru (Fuji Heavy Industries) but they are still privately owned.

Honda is Acura,

Nissan is Infinity

Ford is Lincoln, Mercury, Volvo, Jag, Mazda and LandRover.

GM has Pontiac, Caddy, Chevy, Obviously GMC, Saab, Buick, Saturn, Hummer, Isuzu, Olds and Geo when they exsisted.

Dodge is Chrysler, Jeep, Plymouth before that line was discontinued.

Volkswagen is also Porsche, Audi, Bentley, Lamborgihini, Bugatti

BMW is also Mini and Rolls Royce

Hyundai and Kia

Mitsubishi

Yep your right, ford does own Volvo and lexus, along with ferrari, diamler chrysler used to own dodge but as of late 2007 some independant firm bought put the dodge name, so they are all on there own now, as far as GM I have no Idea as to what other cars they own or produce. I do know that Ford does have there fingers into alot of other car companies, so therefore that is why they are the best!!
