Car dealership won't let me test drive used car.?
So I've been looking around for a (new)used car and see an Acura Integra. So I go into the dealership and check out the car. Talk to the salesman and try to see if i can test drive the car. 30 Minutes later after getting my info, I ask him if i can test drive the car. He tells me "These are wholesale cars and we dont carry wholesale insurance on these cars so we cant let you take it off the lot."
I know what wholesale cars are but, whats the deal with the insurance crap? I'm 22, stable job and probably make more a year than he does. I'm not some punk kid who wants to take it for a spin.
Thanks in advance.

Sounds like they're hiding something if they won't let you test drive the car. I've never heard of such thing as *wholesale insurance*. In any case, if you can't, for whatever reason, test drive the car, it's best that you look for another car you can actually take off the lot.

That is very strange, the dealer is either hiding something from you or is just not a good dealer at all. You might want to get information on better dealers by visiting http://www.carleasingsecrets.com./ They can hook you up with the latest quotations from dealers around the US and they also won't hide any of the hidden charges from you. And I am pretty sure the dealers that they will refer you to will let you test drive the car. It's absurd that your current dealer won't allow a test drive.
Hope this helps!

And you probably have auto insurance which means that you would be covered so you should probably move on from this dealership because he is hiding something from you. I know that dealers are getting more protective about test drives because of recent violence and thefts but if you are producing all of your info as you said than you do deserve to have a test drive.

Next time you go to a dealership try this:
let the sales guy lead you, dont act excited about the car even if you really want that car. look like you dont really like the car and either the sales guy will decrease the price and do everything to get you to test drive his car. in other words, play hard to get, you will get a good deal and will be treated like a customer should be treated!! try www.craigslist.org to find a better car.

Haha...
Your insurance will cover the car if youre driving it.
His insurance normally would (as a courtesy), but if there is none yours would still have to cover it.
Sounds like he's hiding something, especially since you wrecking it is a guaranteed sell.

Walk away. If they won't let you drive it before buying, there is something "fishy". Too many reputable dealers out there to take a chance with a guy like this.

The dealer's refusal can be heard as, " This car is not a good car. Go away from here now."

That's easy. Tell the salesman to take a leap off a tall building you'll go spend your money somewhere else.

Whatever you do, don't buy a car that you can't test drive. That doesn't make sense that they would have a car that you can buy but you can't test drive first. Somehow they are trying to scam you.

If they won't let you test drive...go some where else. They are hiding something.
