winter trip packing tips?
I'm leaving in two weeks for a winter holiday in New York. I'm practically clueless about what to pack, as I grew up in a tropical environment, and now live in Australia, where the coolest temp I've ever experienced is probably 4 oC. Also it's summer here now. Where do I buy winter clothes in Perth?
Tips and tricks anyone? Will really appreciate it...thanks in advance.

Need to pack shirts, sweaters, pants and a big jacket.
Bring lots of layers, since it will be very cold outside but warm inside.... Dont forget accessories such as scarves, hats, and gloves. Basic black to match almost everything!
It is pretty cold in NYC in the winter.
