Tattoos that you regret or love?
have you got any tattoos & if so do you regret having them done because your tattoo was in fashion at the time or the rebelious stage you was going through,I hate mine & yes it was the rebelious stage,I'm lucky as in I can cover one with a watch but I have initials on my shoulder, eeewww how tacky!!!!
So my Q is if you have tattoos are you still happy with them or are they a reminder of those rebelious days....

I was a fool! I was 16 when I got my first one...a very tacky rose tattoo that is just hideous...I am now searching for something to cover it with
I also decided at 18...when hungover from a night binging on alcopops that getting a chinese symbol (highly fasionable at the time of course : P) would be a great idea...yep, you guessed it, I am looking to cover over and change that one too
As a teenager, I was obsessed with doing things my way and my way only, I didnt listen to my parents advice and didnt even take the time to consider the meaning of these tattoos
Nowadays...I consider tattoos as personal pieces of art that reflect you as a personality or that maybe have some significant meaning on your life
I am envious of those people who have beautiful well thought out pieces on their bodies and hope that in time I can do that too...once I have discovered the perfect ones for me
Till then...I try to hide the crappy ones! : )

I have two and would like more, but can't spend the money on any more right now. I thought long and hard about what I wanted in a tattoo before I got any. The first one I got with a friend, it's the Chinese symbol for friendship and we both have them in the same place (hip). I am thinking about changing that one because I am no longer good friends with that person and then, even though I tired to get in in a good spot it gt stretched when I was pregnant. However, I would be fine with it if it wasn't stretched, I just think if I need it touched up maybe they can make it into something I like better instead. The other tattoo I got spur of the moment. I knew I wanted a lower back tat, I knew I loved the tribal and I wanted it to be just black (I really like plain black tats) so when I walked into a tattoo place that had a design I really liked, I got it on the spot. I think that tattoo is my favorite thing I've ever done to my body.
If you really don't like yours, why don't you go to a good tattoo shop and see what ideas the artists have about cover-ups? They really want to make sure you love they're work, and would probibly like to try to make yours into something you would enjoy to wear on your body.

I have four tattoos, all in area I can cover if need be for work and do not regret any of them. I paid for my b/f (now hubby) to get his first tattoo for his 18th birthday and knew from that moment on that I wanted one myself, I just didn't like any designs I saw - at that time I didn't realise you could design your own.
14 years later I finally got my ink using my own design which I spent several months working on until I was 100% happy with it. I've had a further 3 tats done since, 1 of my own design, with several others planned, however I had to put them on hold when I became pregnant. I now need to find someone to babysit so I can get the last one touched up and the next one done.
I think because I waited so long to get them that I had had more than enough time to be firm in my decision and be mature enough to pick pieces which are not ruled by changing fashions.

My 1st tattoo is on my right shoulder, I hate it because I rushed into it & it's a design I don't really like.
My 2nd tattoo is on my left shoulder, it's the Chinese symbol for Tiger & I love it.
My 3rd is a Celtic design on my lower back, a 30th birthday present from my sister, I love it.
My 4th was done recently at a tattoo convention & I hate it big time! Not only had I been drinking but like the first tat it was one I rushed into. It's on the inside of my wrist, it's very visible & everytime I see it I inwardly cringe. I'm also a bit embarrassed about other people seeing it which is unavoidable in my job.
I'm saving up to have it removed. Think carefully people!

I have quite a few tattoos. About 15 of them. I do not regret one of them. None of mine are because of a rebellious stage or something that was in fashion at the time. All but two of them are to do with my family. I am very happy with all of them and I did get my first one at the age of 40 so they are all very thought out.

I have a tattoo of a little Indian on my belly that I had done at 16 it was my first. I'm now 29 and have a further 4 which all have meanings and I love them but when I look at the Indian it doesn't really go with the rest, I try to convince myself its a reminder of my youth and should love it.

I love wrestling and I have a 2 tattoos that say The undertaker, he is my absolute fav, Got them at 18 and 20. I'm 27, don't regret them but have to cover them up during employment for obvious reasons. Still Love them, and yes I am sane.

I have 4 tattoos. One on each of my arms at the top, one on my back and one on my chest. The only one I regret is the one on my chest, because I can hide all the others. I never got them to show off to people. They were all personal to me at the times I had them done. I think the only reason I regret the one on my chest is because I don't really hang with the same group of people anymore. My partner doesn't like tattoos and thinks they're "dirty", so that's why I think I don't like the one on my chest, as it's on show every time I wear a low cut top....

My first tattoo was a dove on my lower back. I got it when I was 17 and by the time I was 18 I hated it. So I went back and had tribal black added around it, extending to my sides and up. Now I love the tattoo. A lone bird just looked retarded by itself.
To Mimkat: Can you just wear a watch to cover it up? Or is it really big?

I have 4, hate my first one which is a little heart on the left side of my chest, got it when i was 14 and unfortunately gravity has now caught up with me so its not exactly the same as what it was, more like a triangle than a heart these days, my other 3 tats all have special meaning to me and i love them.
