My stepkids make us a star for the tree for Christmas. We use blue and red bulbs and some other christmas ornaments (stuffed animals, something from our wedding that was made by mom, etc.). We don't have a lot of ornaments because we like to see the tree too. (My parents' tree, covered in ornaments. I love it. But of course it's a lot of work, putting them on and taking them off.) We use the "ugly" colored lights and red berries (wooden). I'm thinking about getting the white lights for a change.

It's from Costco and has lots of ornaments that are junky or from Costco over the years.

It does have a special "baby's first Christmas" for our grand-daughter for last year (has her picture). No other tree has that special ornament!

It has the "Polar Express" train under the tree. Usually it is a larger "LGB" size but we opted to use our smaller one this year. (We almost used the "Hogwarts Express" train instead.) Decisions, decisions!

One more unique thing - the cat usually hides under the tree.

I use traditional colors and some different ornaments but I don't do themes as that looks too modern, back in the day you would never see a certain theme on a tree it was just a bunch of ornaments collected through the years, that is what I like to do.

The ornaments are hung from about 3 feet from the ground and up - I have a one year old who likes shiny things.

The bottom branches are bent to the ground, already, because my two cats like to perch in them.

Eh, my tree might look strange this year, but it represents my crazy home! Haha, so I love it.

WE use the big colored lights and tiny little stockings(the ones you use for crafts and stuff) to decorate it(mostly because our cats break ornaments so) and then we put a santa hat on top instead of a star or angel(again because we can't have breakables on the tree)

Because it has MY keepsake ornaments given to me from many friends and family members.. photo ornaments of my family.. and angel ornaments that my Grandmother has collected for me since I was a baby. When decorated with the ornaments, my tree is a symbol of many memories of me growing up.

everytime we go on vacation we buy a Christmas ornament. The tree is filled with memories of all vacations. Its kinda neat. Of course there are the traditional ornaments too like the Grinch and Spongebob. Thanks to my daughter...

Mine is a mini pre-lite. It has this disk that makes the fiber optic lights multi-colored and another disk for white lites. All I do is select a disk pop it in and plug it in. No ornaments, tinsel, garland, etc. Just the lights. I tried putting mini ornaments on it one year and it was pretty, but they distracted from the lights. Granted it looks pathetic if the lights aren't on, but it's gorgeous to me with nothing but lights.

My family xmas tree is not traditional in any way. I have really bad allegeries, so ours is a fake tree and its seven feet tall. It even rotates like a store display. We do follow a color scheme ( each year a new color ie: red or blue or even purple), but we put our personalized ormanents and family keepsakes as well.

We set it upside-down! I saw this somewhere and thought..how perfectly odd! We had this little train set that runs on the top. I had to get real sneaky, though, and anchor it with lights from the picture window. I hope people who see it won't think we are being disrespectful..we just wanted something different this year!
