Why cant you have surgery while your sick?
My nephew is schedualed for surgery and they told us he couldn't have surgery when he was sick, He's schedualed next monday and woke up this morning with a cough. Is it due to chance of infection or is it due to anastisia?

immune system needs to be in good shape, nothing to complicate the anesthesia, no active infections, blood pressure and blood sugar under control.
For highest odds of success, lowest odds of law suits.

The immune system needs to be able to fight off the disease before it's put under the stress of having to heal.
