Is their any advice or anything you guys can tell me? Im so nervous! Help please..?
This Thursday i am being induced!! (not a c section) Im soo nervous but excited! On the paper she gave me to give to the hospital when i go in at 6:30 in the morning it said no instructions except regular diet. So does that mean i should eat something before i go in? and if so what's good breakfast food to eat thats not so heavy? Because more than likely i will throw it up because i have really bad nausea my WHOLE pregnancy including these past couple days.. she said when i go in the first thing is i will be asked 100 questions, have an i.v put in and they will start me on pitocin.. Thats all i know so far until i get their. Is their any advice or anything you guys can tell me? Im soo nervous! This is our first baby!

i would definately eat before you go in because once labor starts you wont be eating for a while! (but nothing too heavy of course!) just try to relax and (somewhat) enjoy it...dont stress or get too anxious. let nature take its course and everything will be fine! the pain isnt as bad as most people will tell you...

Get ready to wait. Take a book or something cause once they start the Pitocin there's a good chance that nothing will happen right away and they don't let you get up except to go to the bathroom. And they have a lot of ppl through your room while youre being induced, They are constantly checking your IV, monitoring your contractions, and checking other stuff, like your blood pressure. The good thing about the induction is tat since you aren't distracted doing other stuff you get to actually experience every minute of your labor, stuff that you would normally miss in the rush of going into labor at home. It's not that bad, I felt safer during my induction than I did with my other two non-induced labors. You'll be fine.

Well first of all congratulations on the new baby.
I was induced with all three of my children. My oldest, I went into labor on my own, but my cervix was not dialating so they gave me pitocin to start the dialation process.
With my other two, I wanted to be able to plan arrangements for my children as far as daycare and with my husband being an OTR driver I wanted him there.
I would say for a breakfast, definately eat before you go in. The hospital will not allow you to eat once you are there. I made bananna muffins the day before and had that for breakfast with some milk. You definately want to eat to keep your strength up but don't want anything that is going to be heavy on your stomach. A bowl of cereal or an english muffin will be a great alternative also.
Good luck with the baby and relax now you won't for another 18+yrs.

I was induced also. I would recommend eating a good dinner and skipping breakfast. I checked in the hospital at 7am. Started Pitocin at 830am and had my daughter at 5:24pm the same day. It works different for everyone but it does make the contractions come on strong. I was so glad that I skipped breakfast tho.
Bring a book or maybe a magazine too. The first few hours might be boring. You will have contractions but they may be mild.
Good luck!!!!

That's about it. Have a piece of toast with jelly on it in the morning or have something to eat before you go to bed if you don't want to eat in the morning.
The pitocin will get your contractions started and that's when the action starts and you start dialating.
Good luck. They may have you get up and walk around, that helps the labor too.
Wow! The big day is almost here!

if it says regular diet, I would think breakfast is ok but it's always better to call so you know for sure. I think once you get checked in the give you Cytogel or something of that nature to see if they can get your cervix to dilate before the pitocin so sometimes they don't actually start the pitocin until later in the morning.
Good luck to you! Soon you will be kissing your baby's cheeks!

Congratulations in advance!
I was induced too. Got to the hospital at 10:30 pm and had my baby in my arm at 6:30 pm the next day!It can be a long time before your bundle of joy decided to come out of hiding, so you had better eat something light- you'll be there for sometime, so you'll get hungry but won't be allowed to eat anything! Carry some magazines, carry your diary (if you keep one) to jot down whatever's going on in your mind! It'll all be fine!
Besties!

I had to be induced (was overdue 4 days). When they pop your water it feels like water trickling out and you feel like a lot of pressure has been drained out. get as much sleep as you can. you may have to be awake for 24 hours..
you can only eat ice chips and Popsicles while in labor (sux.. way much..)
don't eat too much before you go in. All I had was bowl of cereal the night before (they told me later it was good I didn't eat anything before I went in)
they'll put in a IV, strap on contraction and fetal monitors.
I highly recommend the epidural. I went up to 6-7 cm then I couldn't stand the contractions anymore. I didn't watch them put it in and it helped with the pain SO much. They do have to take it out in the end though.
Since you're going vaginal you probably have to a epiosomy. It hurts a LOT after wards and they'll probably prescribe painkillers (i had Motrin and Tylenol condin)
the pain is worth it. took me from 6:30am till 6:12 pm to have her. Took about 2 hours of pushing at the end.

If I remember right I was not supposed to eat anything after I went to bed the night before. Other than that...no worries. It is wonderful being induced. I got the epidural and relaxed most of the day until they told me to push and then I pushed for 1 hour max. Good luck!

I defiantly think you should talk to him before Chirstmas break because over the break he will have time to think about what you said and then there won't be a big empty space there of you wishing that you would have done something. But I would not advise you to kiss him when you are talking becasue that is coming on a lilttle to strong. A way to clear your nerves is to imagine that you are talking to own of your friends. Besides if you don't do it now someone couls snatch him up after you had the chance to. Good Luck!

you should eat something, even if you might throw it up...take stuff with you to do (read etc...) it could be a long labor you know! have your hubby bring things for you to snack on too! other than that, just have your bag packed...and don't let them pressure you into a c-section (if that is not what you want), two of my friends went in for inductions because they were not going into labor on their own...so they go in for the pitocin and all that (just like you are) and it was "taking too long" for their doctors so they just had c-sections...be careful and try to enjoy labor...I got an epidural...i recommend it!! good luck! no worries, you are gonna see your little one soon!!!
