"We are seeing catastrophic changes already from Global warming", Where? What? When?

Please point out to me these "changes", because I don't see the "catastrophic" changes happening. At least not any that are caused by Carbon Dioxide. I see alot people raising the alarm but I don't see any fire. How can you expect people to to change their lifestyle and give up freedoms to prevent something scientists themselves are not 100% confident is occuring?

More and stronger hurricanes - as in Katrina.

More forest fires in California due to longer and drier "fire season".

    Weaker monsoons in Southeast Asia.

    Bigger droughts in Africa.

Poorer weather in farming areas of the US.

Melting of the permafrost in Alaska and Canada.

Massive die-offs of birds throughout the UK and Europe.

Massive die-offs of coral throughout the world.

Reduction of water in China's rivers due to smaller glaciers up in the mountains.

This is what is already occuring. Today.

Yes we have always had droughts and then change to not having as much rain but that has been changed drastically because of man. Every thing was fine till progress kicked in and factories were built and industry and coal use and gas came into play now it is record breaking every thing. And many of us have saw the change, as I am guessing your around thirty years old, if that, while I'm pushing 60. I want you to look up Grandfather Mountain NC, and Mount Mitchell and look up the damages caused by acid rain. The before and after pictures this has happened in my life time, this is only one example of pollution. Where factories and cars emissions of the Caldwell County area have killed trees, this was not done by clear cutting nor forest fire, But by man as we had 100's of factories till they went over seas, and now it has begun to get greener again. Plus look up the dust bowl, where when the farmers came and started plowing under every square inch of that land even with horse and plow and planted grain then began plowing with diesel tractors. It turned into a desert very quickly as they took what was natural and put back something else, Now all they get instead of dust storms is tornado after tornado.........And when there is a drop in temperature in the fall of about 10 degrees you would know with out a weather man, that by morning there would be a frost. But when the temp the day before was in the seventies and it drops down to 20 that is un normal, when it bounces back up to seventy again the next day, that is a 50 degree difference. And year before last in NC, also our temperature rose to a staggering 105 degrees for nearly two months. Then last year it kept flooding and flooding every thing and every where, never has it ever done this before. We have lived long enough to see the change and were even talking about it before Jimmy carter was president, we are farmers and love being out of doors, instead of living in a box, we live out side that of video games and WY-FI. I Hate politics and I care not to vote, but I do care about the air I breath. And no president has ever started a scare tactic on us but if it is something that we have said and had issues about, that is what they will use to gain the public eye. An example when the abortion thing was an issue most of the seats voted in were for it, the same as with gay rights, and other things, we lead them, not the other way around, Now they will campaign about what we fear of global warming, and who ever sounds more sincere will be the one with the most votes. Among other things that have and is yet causing global warming, the clear cutting of trees.

Its definately affecting things whether you know/like it or not. Al Gore is an idiot ..he has no "earthly" how the earth works.

Its obvious what we have down has had an effect on our environment. The other day I watched this special on the History channel on Global Warming. That program was definately a eye opener on how serious things are. First, with the introduction of millions of tons of carbon from an outside source such as an asteroid (Think of the Dinosaur killer..) ..Things heat up because of carbon dioxide's ability to trap heat. When we poured our share of CO2 into the air.. things only worsened (Obviously). Those two things raised the surface temperature enough to bring on the melting of icecaps and underground methane reserves. (Methane is ~26 times worse than CO2 when talking about trapping heat) So, With all of this Methane and CO2 being released into the air at the same time... Earth's surface heats up. The increased sea level on Earth is VERY important not only because it threatens coastal cities .. but it traps more heat. I live by the coast ..eventually where i live will be under water. At least when the icecaps melt completely.

On that special on the History Channel, this scientist had a demonstration in Antarctica showing how colors could affect temperatures dramatically. He had two peices of cardboard ..one black (represents the oceans) and one white (represents Snow). He let them both sit on the ground letting the sun's rays come in contact with them for about a minute. The white cardboard was basically the same temperature of the snow @ ~25 degrees F. The black cardboard was a smoldering 90 degress F. (..Incredible how color can make such a big difference) ..And just think, The amount of snow is decreasing. Which means more heat that is kept in Earth's atmosphere.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. Global warming is indeed a big issue, more threatening than any terrorist group or country that intends to arm itself with nuclear weaponry. Things such as Crop failures, high sea levels, radical weather, overpopulation, flooded island areas, and much much more could result in nuclear warfare ..by countries trying to get food to feed their country. It definately could happen ..And probably will.

Most Americans could care less... and even if they did, they would NOT change the way they live. We want to roam the roads with our huge SUVs and live big. Unfortunately, that will kill us in the end. Its a good thing companies such as Honda already have working fuel cell cars. I still think it is too late to curve global warming.. Just keep in mind its dangers.

I don't see any "catastrophic changes" out of the ordinary.

But if you can remember Dec. 26, 2004 - there was a very minor hiccup of tectonic plates that claimed 250,000 lives.

    Hiccup: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2007/08/07081...

These Alarmists have no idea of how truly insignificant we are in comparison to Nature.

We are living on a virtual "paper thin" Crust - 3 - 25+ miles thick - in comparison to the Mantel = 1800 miles thick - Temperatures ranging from 1600 degrees to 4000 degrees

Egads !! The Bible did no longer even point out that Noah experienced a worldwide flood until the Bible became into (incorrectly) translated into English in 1611. The history channel lined that for the duration of considered one of their documentaries. .at the start, -- Noah's (small) worldwide became into flooded; no longer the finished worldwide as all of us recognize it immediately. (The documentary indicated it ought to have befell in Mesopotamia.) Gen. 7:4 - For yet seven days, and that i visit reason it to rain upon the earth [erets] 40 days and 40 nights; and each residing substance that I even have made will I destroy from off face of the earth [adamah]. The section "face of the earth" in this verse in Hebrew reads as ;paniym adamah. those 2 words do no longer recommend the *finished earth". yet a territory or u . s .. Ergo: the Bilbe does not say it became right into a worldwide flood. by the way, whilst i became into in the jungles of Vietnam, it rained for somewhat better than 40 days and nights in the process the moist-monsoons. -- It became right into a each and every year adventure. It did no longer flood the finished worldwide. -- the persons of that section build their homes on stilts just to coach them for those moist monsoons that commonly lasted approximately 40 days. - go discern. Secondly, - the animals to be stored have been the interior sight animals -- they did no longer point out Elephants and Giraffes, like the Sunday college pictorials. --- penguins and aardvarks weren't pronounced in the Bible the two. Thirdly, the Ark became into an expression for "field/containers that floated" fourthly, those containers (arks) have been already geared up. They have been referred to as barges that have been used for commerce for the duration of that factor - for shifting grains and livestock down river. additionally wine as I remember. fifthly , those containers only needed to be amassed and tied mutually, by using Noah or whoever.

"As Nunavut government biologist Mitch Taylor observed in a front-page story in the Nunatsiaq News last month, "the Inuit were right. There aren't just a few more bears. There are a hell of a lot more bears."

The vast majority of scientists believe the growth of the Sahara is because of the old island of India slamming into Asia and disrupting the wind current by pushing the mountains higher. It then started to blow warmer air to northern Africa. This is something they believe and will never say it is fact until they absolutely prove it.......unlike these global warming alarmists. To point out that Greenland is melting is completely ridiculous. The country had more green land during the "dark ages" than it does today. So the validity of the "Greenland Argument" is in question. (They have enough info to know the land was covered in grass before the "Little Ice Age".)

The Earth is hurtling toward a warmer climate at a quickening pace, a Nobel-winning U.N. scientific panel said in a landmark report released Saturday, warning of inevitable human suffering and the threat of extinction for some species.

As early as 2020, 75 million to 250 million people in Africa will suffer water shortages, residents of Asia's megacities will be at great risk of river and coastal flooding, Europeans can expect extensive species loss, and North Americans will experience longer and hotter heat waves and greater competition for water, the report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change says

the cabon dioxide is adding to the ozone layer which reflects more of the sun's heat back onto the earth. as the heat can't get out and the heat from the sun keeps on coming the earth gets warmer and warmer and the polar ice caps will melt.

    Where, you ask,

havent you seen that the ice is melting and that the weather is very hot in the summer and freezing in the winter. if you havent then you're not from england. weve had floods all through summer. and bangledesh they've had a big bad flood and global warming is the problem. the sea levels are rising because the ice caps are melting.

The "Global Warming Alarm" is being sounded by the global socialists who desire to use this 'emergency' to gain control of the worlds industrial and energy base to redistribute wealth globally. While there is evidence that both supports and refutes Global Warming I see no cataclysmic changes happening either. We still do not understand what forces caused the last ice age. Scientists incorrectly predicted record hurricane seasons the last two years....

And I always like to keep in mind that more conservation and preservation has been acccomplished by hunters, fisherman and other sportsmen, than by all the environmental groups combined.

The political nature of global warming has biased the media so much it has changed the way agencies report weather.

    http://www.usatoday.com/weather/storms/winter/2007...

The headlines read: North Dakota getting more wintry weather.

Just a few years ago the headlines would have mentioned the words Record Snowfall, received in multiple cities.

Now if this would have been record warm weather, it would have dominated the headlines.
