if you don't know anything about the "feminist movement," are you still a feminist?
if you fall under the dictionary definition, but don't do any "activism" and don't even know about any feminist activism, nor read any feminsts blogs or even know who out there is a feminist leader, nor know anything about feminist organizations, are you still a feminist?
wow, Mike T, i've never seen *that* definition anywhere...

You can support a sports team without knowing who all the players are. You don't even need to know the rules. You might never go to a game. You might never even watch a game.
But you know when to cheer.
Perhaps it is a bit like that. It does help to know a bit about why you support something, and its history, who the key players are. It helps advance the movement if people are active within it. But take support from all quarters that genuinely offer it.
For a great length of time the challenge for feminism was winning hearts and minds. Let us not so lightly dismiss the hearts and minds that have been won over. If they understand and support the basic tenets, that is enough. They are cheering for the right team.

Like maximum feminist excuses those are week. a million} Ah blame anti feminists to divert the question this is an frequently used ploy. because of the fact we don't overlook approximately misogynists we debate them and attempt to lead them to see reason purely as we've been attempting to do with feminists. And particular the MRM is approximately equality when you consider that we don't push for any gender particular regulations and we push for the regulations to be utilized the two. maximum folk of feminists won't be able to relatively say the comparable. 2} N.O.W. has places of work as do different feminist agencies that could desire to relatively be written to by using feminists to tell them approximately their displeasure on the way feminism has been hijacked by using radicals. whether I doubt very many try this. 3} This one is a very susceptible argument when you consider that feminist additionally has loose speech and could desire to apply it to denounce radical feminists yet I doubt she would manage to. 4} back this is an occasion of a diversionary tactic. This individual is conscious that "make me a sandwich" is a troll tactic to strengthen the ire of feminists because of the fact given maximum of their bitter natures is somewhat executed. backside line is maximum feminists appreciate misandry and that they choose those biased regulations to be handed. they opt to work out adult males feminized because of the fact they think of which will carry approximately compliance with lady whims. Feminists right here will do no longer something to quit the radicals because of the fact the are closet radicals themselves.

Too much emphasis is being put on the label. Of course it doesn't matter. A lot of people, men and women, believe in and support so-called feminist issues whether they accept it or not.
No...you don't necessarily have to be an activist. However, what good are the beliefs if you don't go out and do something with them. There is a broad spectrum of things you can do to support a cause you believe in. Think globally, act locally.

All that was me until a short time ago and I think I was still a feminist I just didn't know it.
I think that's true of many people today.

Sure. Anyone who believes in gender equality is a feminist! You don't have to know about the history of feminism, or about any of its leaders, or regularly visit any feminist websites. I know I sure don't, and I'm definitely a feminist.

A femenist is just someone who believe that women should be equal to men and is very vocal about it. Someone who just thinks that to themselves but never speaks up when men are treating women wrong aren't. You don't even have to be female to be a femenist.
And, Mike T, if you don't know what you're talking about, please don't talk about it. And so you research. I don't believe Susan B. Anthony ever said anything about women getting more priveledges then men. We femenists think men and women should be equal. The only reason there aren't any "malist" is because, in case you haven't notive, white men have never been subjected to unjust treatment in this country!

I believe so. If one believes in equal rights and equal opportunities for women, they're a feminist.
I don't read any feminist blogs (or anyone's blog for that matter) and I'm not an activist, yet I still consider myself to be a feminist.

I don't subscribe to any labels that separate men and woman.
Viva la difference.
Embrace the sameness
Love will ease any "problem"
God is all
Peace to all.

Yes. You can know nothing about the feminist movement and still believe in equal rights. That makes you a feminist, whether you know it or not!
