My friend said that he takes a ""to each their own"" aproach to people and their hair styles....

What the heck does he mean? Where does that phrase come from.

Update:

okay, i'm starting to understand this, however... where did this phrase originate from?

    It's "to each his own."

It means every person is an individual and has the individual right to act, look and think as they wish. The person saying it is claiming they do not judge because they recognize that each person is and individual.

That means he respects that other people have different opinions than he does.
