Windows and mirrors around the house at night. Once, I saw my own reflection in a window and almost thought I was a ghost! (I was already on edge because I am afraid of the dark)

haha gosh that was so much fun reading all the answers :). I am kinda scared of mirrors. I am always afraid when i wash my face and I have to close my eyes. I start imagining stuff in the mirror....like someone's face there when I open my eyes. So I try to get done soaping as fast as possible! I can totally feel my heart pounding.

I am really scared of stairs with empty space between them from which i am afraid my foot might slip and go in and i'd have a nasty, scary fall. I go very very gingerly.

I am really afraid of looking down a body of water or a building from the top. I am always afraid someone will push me over...:-)). Gosh what paranoia.

I am also afraid of being followed when I am on the road...like sometimes when I notice the very same car which has been behind me through quite a distance including different turns.

Sometimes when I really think about it, I feel those toys at home are looking at me and it really freaks me out.

Nighttime sounds are scary, like a swish, a thud, a tap, or even a shadow....am already feeling scared and it's bright daylight outside! Lemme stop...before this takes over my mind :-).

added: ok, couldn't help adding 2 more. afraid of the shower curtain (not always but sometimes) suddenly pulled aside by someone when i am inside the shower.... scary!

Afraid of a cat following me in the dark, looking at me intently with those glassy eyes....as if looking right thru me. I am kinda generally afraid of cats for some reason. They seem a lil creepy to me. Quiet, alone, n creepy.

I can't think of any normal, everyday object that freaks me out, BUT... when I look at any artist's rendition of the stereotypical "alien" -- pale skin, long face, tiny nose and mouth, big almond-shaped eyes, etc. I get so freaked out I have to look away immediately!! And then for a significant amount of time afterwards, I feel uncomfortable and can't get it out of my mind! :( I just find those aliens VERY disturbing, for some reason.

P.S. When I was a little kid, I was afraid of "points". I didn't like looking at anything that had a significant point sticking out of it. Isn't that funny? *blush* One thing I really hated was seeing the points of curtain rods peeking out from behind the top of the curtains or drapes. I was also afraid of shadows -- not as in a person's shadow when walking in the sunlight, but a shadow cast by something in a partially dark room.

I know that these aren't everyday objects but a couple of things freak me out

    1. Ventriloquist dummies and

    2. The Gieco commercial with the grown up Cabbage Patch Doll

Cotton balls. They just freak me out! They're so gross, I can't even touch them or watch other people touch them. It's the sound of them when people squeeze them, it just makes my body hurt. Also can't clean my ears with Q-Tips without wetting the tip. Seems like that would make it worse but this way it doesn't make the squeaky nasty sound when it's inside my ear. Don't know where that came from.. it's so bad that if I have a really bad headache or something but the pill bottle still has that cotton in it I'll just put up with the headache until someone can take it out for me.

Sorry but I have to say a mirror because like the guy before me i heard that you see a ghost with a mirror and i heard that you can see your alter ego in the mirror but hey maybe I'm crazy because that's just what i heard.

Elevators, escalators, and revolving doors. What my deal is with escalators, I have no clue, but as for elevators and revolving doors I'm a little claustrophobic, and I'm always paranoid that I'll end up trapped some how in that tiny space.

It scares me to death to sit at the edge of a pound, or at the edge of a dock over a lake. I've always been afraid that something, like a hand is going to jump up out of the water. I never ever dangle my feet over, I always felt like something would pull me in....I know, how crazy. Haha. Doll's scare me too. My eyes are watering just thinking about them. I always feel like their actually alive and watching me. Gah. I'm getting the creeps just thinking about it.
