Non-Veg*ns: Would you eat meat from an animal you knew had cancer?
Would it trouble you to know that animals with beginning stage cancers are still allowed to be sold for meat?
Here is just one link that talks about eye cancer in cattle, and the point at which they can no longer be sold as meat:
"Salvage slaughter
It is illegal to put cattle with malignant tumours of the eye, larger than 2cm, in Victorian saleyards. It is also illegal to bring these cattle into Victoria without a licence.
The recommended method of disposal of cattle with small eye cancers is direct to an abattoir.
However, cattle with early stage eye cancers up to the size of a 5 cent coin (2 cm) that are not bleeding or discharging , as shown in Figure 1 below, may be put in saleyard and sold for slaughter."
It's just nasty either way. Mass produced meat is not fit for human consumption.

There are many illnesses that animals can take to slaughter because they are not notifiable.
It doesn't seem to make any difference, people still eat it.
I've seen some horrific cases of maggot infestations in animals at the livestock auctions. I feel sorry for the animal, but wonder about the people who eat them, most have no clue what is in thier meat. All the evidence of what is in meat is freely available in DEFRA guidelines and yet people are somehow suprised when they hear about it.
eeeemmmm whats this extra protien in this lamb chop
Are the people who say "eeeww no" now going to stop eating meat ?? The point of the question is that you will never know. The only way to stick to your answer is to quit meat eating.

Oh that is a good one. I would be put off by the yuck factor and nothing else. But if I knew what caused the cancer would be a different thing, was it from a toxin or likewise.
The thing is cancer cells are normal cells that have been damaged but let they still grow.
Then they are killed, they will remain as flesh, and I'm sure cooking them would damage any cell be it non-cancerous or cancerous.
To be honest I would still feel the same way if someone told me that the plant I was eating has cancer. (Yes plants can have cancer as well).

I find it amusing that some people are going "yuck" and "eww". If you eat meat, it makes no difference whether the cells were 'healthy' or 'cancerous'. Cancer is really just an uncontrolled proliferation of the body's own cells. And it's not contagious like a microbial disease, or mad cow, so there is nothing inherently risky or gross about eating a cancerous animal, compared to eating any animal.
Meat = Tissue = Cells. Cancer = Tissue = Cells.
I find eating all animals gross, so I think it makes no difference either way, period.

The cancer is not in the meat. So, no problem. Would you eat vegetables that are fertilized with the cancerous leftovers of meat animals?
Let me ask you a question. How quickly does cancer get diagnosed in a human? It's not real quick is it? Do you think it goes faster for animals? If you can, please post a decent link to who tests animals for cancer and where you get the idea that they are processed for meat. But, if it's just a veger propaganda site, don't bother.
Source(s): EDIT: Like I said, it's not in the meat. I do appreciate your link though! Andro---Your answer is logical without unnecessary emotion. You didn't endorse meat eating but you clearly stated facts for what they are, facts. I wish more answers would be like that! - How do you think about the answers? You can sign in to vote the answer.

you need to do your point maximum suitable to get Halal meat, if no longer achieveable that's permissible to consume kosher foodstuff. purely in intense case are you able to consume the different meat - starvation and so on and that i do no longer think of this is probably. in case you circulate out consume fish or vegetarian nutrition, yet please do no longer make an excuse and purely pray and consume it. I as quickly as examine a hadiths an prolonged time in the past, so i'm sorry i'm no longer able to keep in mind precisely the place whether it did stick in my techniques. some people offered meat to Hasrat Abu Bakr and thinking it replace into halal he ate it. while he found out it replace into no longer, he compelled himself to hold the foodstuff out (he vomited it up).

Oh, ew, I never thought of that, but I bet a lot of the meat that we (non veg*ns) eat comes from animals who are anything but healthy. Food for thought, indeed.

Sure, they are easier to catch that way. Always go for one that's limping or coughing.
