We have a small Santa tree decoration. He used to be part of a set of 3 and his suit and hat were glittery. Our sons were allowed to put a glittery santa on the tree as children. Over the years 2 of the santas were lost and the boys used to argue over who "got the honour" each year. He is now about 20 years old very grubby and has lost most of his glitter. Our sons are grown men and still love to be the one who puts him on the tree.

Any of the ornaments that my grandmother gave me.

Every year since I've been born, my grandmother has hand-made an ornament for me for Christmas. She also does this with the rest of the grand-children as well as the great-grand children (my daughter). I am 29 now, so you can imagine how many she has made through the years.

Each ornament is special and very detailed.

She puts a lot of work into them and that makes it that much more special.

It put all of them on my tree every year!

My favorite ornament is a Christmas bulb I made in first grade. The teacher became my best friend over the years we still stay in touch. We would put are names on the front with glitter and the year on the back. My son had her a few years ago and he made one too. She has always kept that tradition. I treasure that Christmas bulb. Also had to repeat first grade same teacher and made another one the next year. The teacher bought all the students a Christmas bulb to decorate.

My favorite ornament is a yellow and white gold horse figure jumping over a fence. My parents bought it for me when I was 10 years old after my first competition that I started jumping my horse Tinkie, they bought it at one of the booths the vendors had set up at the horse show! It stays in my room and I put it in exact same place on the tree every year since than!

OK I know this is going to sound lame but I really like sock monkeys and make them for my kids. Well my husband came home a few weeks ago and surprised me with a sock monkey Ornament. I thought that was really thoughtful. It's the little things that make me happy. It's too cute and looks great on the tree!

I have two. One is a paper Santa Claus with a curly beard, that my oldest daughter made in 1st grade. The other is a paper stand up reindeer that my youngest daughter made in her first grade class. (same teacher). I treasure these most of all in my extensive collection of ornaments. They are both over 40 yrs old and getting fragile, but I still put them on my tree every year.

My sister gave me a set of two cow ornaments dressed as if they were going to the beach. They're whimsical, and adorable, and all the more special because they came from her.

Mine is this little pinecone that has a mouse living in it. He's looking out a window in the side of the pine cone, shutters and all, in his little nightgown and cap. I've just always thought it was adorable! Other than that, I like the old pipe ornaments we got for my father.
